Do you guys think this is salvageable?

its worth pulling everything off and swapping over. ive been thinking about it as a second jeep lately...it always comes up on sf clist....

Too much money. I have been watching this also, would want the ARB and gears, but some of the stuff he lists as improvements aren't recoupable costs. Brake pads & rotors? Come on...really? Didn't seem to do him any good. :roflmao:

the front axle is bent unfortunately...
but like I said in my ad! I'm willing to tow it somewhere and I'll pay part of it and take a few things.
PM me if anyone's interested!
:D

If you guys buy it I'm interested in some of the console related parts.

lets see if between all of us we can get like 2500 together and then sell whatevers left to a junkyard for a couple hundred bucks.
ill take the tires/rims and maybe the intake if no one wants it. ill throw in 500 for the tires. maybe like 40 for the intake... and then i could sell my 31's on rims to someone...
if we all want a few parts, who wants what and what are ya willing to spend

i didnt look enough to notice the tires are only at like 50%, maybe ill do like 400 instead and take the intake and maybe some thing else small?.....

I rebuilt mine and it was worse than that and it was pretty cheap, if you do all the work yourself. I bought mine back from the Insurance company for $500 and rebuilt it for about $1500 start to finish. So, buy it cheap!

My jeep has 3/4 of what that jeep has (basically all the equivalent stuff minus the lockers) and I paid $2,900 for it. It had a newly rebuilt motor and everything worked on it (1989 Xj, 4.0 Aw4, Np231, D30, D44, etc), so I would say that price seems a little high for a wrecked one, but that's just me.

ok well I'm in for 600 for the axles considering the front's toasted and I gotta tow it. I'm also thinking I might be able to store it here for a while.

how much do you wanna spend on the rear bumper srmitchell?

and someone else posted that they'd put in 250 for the front bumper.

just fyi, anyone interested in the lift, it's the rock ready 6" by skyjacker. online it goes for 2000 new.
it's basically a drop bracket lift, but I like their design better. has a front crossmember and longer braces for the control arms. also all the arms are adjustable and have heims.

i agree it is a little high for a wrecked rig, i think if a couple of us went over there and talked some sense into this guy with cash in hand and some good arguments for getting it cheaper like we could all basically buy a running jeep in almost same condition for the same price we might even be able to get it for like 2200. if we could find someone to take the lift and some other stuff we could be set. maybe ill post the lift on sacto craigslist and look for bites????

lets post some rough prices for parts and see if we cant make it work...
how about:
rear sye 231 + shaft for 200?
lift +tie rod for 650
axles 600 jimbo
tires/intake/rockers 550 -me (blondejon)
front bumper 250?
rear bumper 250
exhaust 70
red top 40
body parts/engine parts/interior parts/etc....if you buy a big item you can pull other stuff too...

if i, jmbo, and the front and rear bumpers sell we have about 1650
if we can get the /lift+tie rod/sye sold for those prices we could get 2500 together that way. id be willing to throw in more for more parts after seeing the thing.
already pmd jimbo. who wants the bumpers, sye and lift? we could make this thing happen, we could all show up on the same day with some cash and tow it to jimbos place.

Since the front axle is bent and going to be stripped, will the hubs be available? -or- Will Jimbo re-use them?

Still think it is overpriced, but if you could get it for $2K than it mght be worth it
