Do you guys ever get tired of wrenching

So, anyone want to come by tomorrow and help me install an axle?

Not really into working on my Jeep that much. I'd rather wheel it then wrench on it. Some people are the opposite. They love the wrenching. They do it all year long, and just wheel it once a year. I wheel mine at least every month, sometimes twice or even up to 3 times a month.

That being said, I SHOULD work on it more. I got a list of things that I'd like to see fixed, but instead, I just wheel it. No joke, my list is up to FIFTY things. But honestly, I'm just not that good at it, and I still have no clue what I'm doing. I'm a desk jockey, not a wrench monkey. That I'm somehow broke most of the time. Then there's the time to do it. Somehow my schedule just fills up and I run out of time. And then when I DO have time, I'm just not that motivated.

I just enjoy fixing things in general - or teaching other people to fix things (which is why I started writing books.)

I'd like to have more money to work on my own rig - time isn't such a problem for me anymore, but most of our disposable income gets spent fixing everydamnthing else, and I do get tired of that.

If it follows the regular pattern, business should be picking up for me soon, and that should allow for more discretionary income (both to improve the business and to get things I want to do done.) We ended up taking some rather large hits trying to help the kids in the last couple of months, and we're just about recovered from that as well.

I enjoy it but when everything keeps breaking I start to get a little pissed off. I broke 2 bolts just the other week, and I ended up doing a lot more work than I wanted to. It can get old after a while. I guess I am not cut out to be a mechanic.

i generally enjoy working on the jeep. even if while im working on it something doesnt go as planned, in the end it was still fun and productive.....usually

Every now and then I pull the jeep out before a wheeling trip and don't find anything wrong that I need to rush fix before going out again.

Every time that happens, it freaks me the f out, and I end up spending money on an expensive upgrade I probably don't need (when's the last time i couldnt go where I wanted?).

I really do love wrenching on my jeep, but its starting to wear on me too.

all your fruits who love wrenching wanna head on up to dennis and throw my head gasket on and toss in a d30? lol

Then they can do mine since its right there anyways.

13 hours today.

New D30 is in and assembled

Currently running my old shafts as I couldn't get the unit bearings off the new ones, and I want to put 760x u-joints in them.

At least its ready for Big Bear tomorrow.

Lovely.

The new t-case leaks at the rear output seal.

I guess the good news is my old t/c has a rear seal that never leaked.

I think I'll be swapping over the rear extension portion of that case.

well i like wrenching better than working, but for some reason all my parts suppliers want money

cliff notes: wrench, work, wheel, repeat

Im like wrenching... But Im pretty sure my jeep gets tired of it.
