do new style side mirrors fit on 96 and older?

just like the title reads I want to replace my side mirrors on my 96 with mirrors from a newer body style. does it work?

Yes they fit. I also believe that the heated mirrors can be wired into the rear defrost circuit.

Yes, they fit. But sometimes you might have to trim a little bit to get the mirror base to fit flush against the door/windoww trim stuff. Also, the vent glass post on older doors will fall into the middle of the viewing area of the mirror. After I smashed the mirrors on my 95, I swapped spare newer mirrrors on until I was able to find old non-fixed mirrors.
