Nothing fancy, built it myself. Has mounts for shovel, hi lift jack, slanted CB antenna, and rear lights. (does not come with hi lift or shovel.) Does come with the two lights for the rear. They have never been hooked up, no time.

Whole things needs a good wire brushing and re-paint. I know people will ask, so to head them off at the pass: "I am going to do something different."

Mounts to the factory bolt locations, 10 of them. Used it to carry gas, water, lumber, and even a spare tire one time. Asking $45

Pending sale.

Back up for sale!!!!

I did not even think about this, but there is a difference between the OE mounting positions of my '90 compared to '96+.

This rack was designed to bolt directly to my '90 OE bolt mounts for the factory channels/roof bars. They changed it I believe after 96 & up.

Yella
can correct me if I am wrong.

So if you are interested in this thing, think about your year XJ and then PM and we can confirm the mounting measurements.

What??? A low profile rack... You shouldn't talk about your wife like that.

How hard would it be to modify to fit a 99. If it is easy, I'll take it.

Skully, Ken,

Actually, I think the roof rack placement/mounting hole locations aren't in a different location, but the spacing between the holes could possibly be different. Ken may have a full length roof rack, or a 3/4 roof rack (depending on the year of his rig) so if he had the long rack, he'd have a few extra holes ahead of the rack Skully built when sitting in place......

I'd say at worse, Ken might have to re-drill holes in the Skully rack to match his roof mounting holes. :dunno:

Thanks Yella. If that is the case, I'll take it. I was thinking the same thing, that a hole or two would need to be plugged and maybe a whole or two would need to be drilled. Wait are we talking about a roof rack or a porno? I'll be back in town by Saturday and can swing by and take a look then, if you want to wait that long.

Ken you live like ten minutes away, maybe less. PM when you get back and we can take measurements.

I had a pending sale for a guy with a '99, he lives in Conifer so I had him measure across and the amount between the bolts. They were off by an 1" almost both ways from what he measured to what I measured. We can confirm those measurements Ken when you stop back in town? Yella is under the impression the side to side should be the same.

The strap steel for the base is at a slope bent to the roof and welded with five connections on each side. I used 5 of 6 bolt holes on each side They are pretty wide so it would not be much to re-drill if had to.

Interesting. You're saying that the parallel lines of mounting holes on the old vs. new roof are an inch different between the two when measured across the roof? I'd have never guessed.

The measurements the guy sent me were off by 1/2 from side to side. There is a margin of error there........ However the pattern between each mounting bolt was 12" on his and 14" 1/4 on mine.

GONE! SOld to the man who is wheeling his wife's Jeep. :gee:

Yella, the bolt pattern is different between years. 96 and down is 14" apart between bolts and 12" on the newer years.

The width we looked at it the difference was 1/2", my 90' was 46 1/2" and on the new one is 47" from side to side on the bolts.

The width was actully about a 1/4" off and only the rear hole to the next hole forward was at 12" all the other holes lined up. I had to drill 2 new holes and elongate 4 holes.

Hmmm? Yeah that is weird? I am going to go check ALL the spacing between the bolts not just the front two bolts......

Did you wire brush it and paint it, you got that thing attach pretty fast?

No, just put it on. I think I'm going to pull it off once I get a rear bumper with a tire carrier and the get it powder coated. I have some other things that need to be powder coated as well. Here is a pic.
