K, here's the story, 93 XJ 4.0 HO I6 automatic 210,000 miles. Oil in Distributor, I know blow by, but FOOLISHLY without checking I ran right to the dealer for a seal kit; forgetting that I had masked off the top crankcase vent while degreasing the engine from a steering hose leak. Ironically fixing one leak created the other.
Well I have the distributor out and the seals so I might as well just use them which brings me to the question:
1. How many seals are thier?
The dealer gave me two: one gasket between the block and the dist. housing no problem there; and then a seal which seems to have a matching I.D. to the dist shaft O.D.
2. If I need the second seal where does it go?
I didn't see one while pulling the dist. appart and can find no place for the second seal to fit.
Anyone with any info is always appreciated I have 210,000 miles on her and would have never gotten them if it wasn't for . Thanks JD
