difference between "spot" and "fluted" lights?

I think i've decided on the Hell 500's with 55w h3's and i'll just swap in better bulbs, any suggestions on bulbs that the stock fog light wiring harness can handle? or does the wiring that comes with these replace the stock harness? if so, will the wiring that comes with it handle higher watt bulbs? i'd prefer to wire them seperate from the stock harness so i can use them with my high beams.

for replacing my headlights. i don't have the electrical wiring ability enough to make my own upgraded harness for the headlights so just wondering if the stock headlight harness's will be able to handle a 100w bulb without melting?

i got the hella 500's a few weeks ago from walmart for $60 for the set and im pretty damn happy with em. and im gona get two more hella 700's soon which are the same price.

if i replace the h3 bulb in the hella 500's what is the difference between all the different bulbs(h3, h4, h5, etc.)? i would like to put the brightest bulbs that the harness can handle.

You cant,the H-"x" is the physical size/type of mounting, not the wattage.

so, as long as i stick with a H3 bulb i can upgrade from a 55w to a 130w?

i want to be able to turn the fog lights with my high or low beams on. so can i just run a wire from the positive high beam wire to the pin on the factory fog relay that has the low beams wired to( have 2 wires on that pin), then i will run a wire from the positive on the factory fog switch to the new fog light relay to tell it when to turn on.

never mind, i'm just gonna wire them up like this http://www.rallylights.com/hella/AuxLampWiring.aspx and then at the bottom right side of that diagram where the switch is i'll just power that switch from a terminal in the fuse box under the dash that is only live when the vehicle is ON. that way i can turn them on at will and i can just use the existing factory fog light switch but i will rip the wiring out of the back of it that goes to the low beams and replace it with the fuse box wire. right?

that should be fine, i have 4 of the "wal-mart" hellas wired up in a similar configuration and havent had any issues with them, 2 driving lights and 2 of the fog lights with fluted lenses, they have been doing well for almost 6 months now for me
