It has been announced...it will come the end of 2010. Time to start saving for it, as a four-door diesel Rubicon would be SWEET!!!! Even if it is a Fiat engine :dunno:

From what I hear its gonna be the 5.0 Cummins LDD. I hope they aren't lying, I want to work on that line but There are a bunch of old hires that will take the jobs.

Edit: Apparently that was an April fools Joke last year. I'll enjoy the first half of the year on unemployment! :( Ahh Well, Fiat has been in the deisel game for a while they should have a decent motor for it.

It is slated for the US....according to my sources at SEMA today! Of course until I see it, I'll keep some reservations.

one word...HEMI! People are dropping $20k to have them put in the JK. Diesel is much better than the 3.7, but I'd still rather have a hemi.

Meh, Hemi JK's have been around since they came out. Time to see something different in a JK. Not that I wouldn't own one though! :D

Just hope its not the same 2.8L CRD Wrangler that they have in europe... they are turds I would rather have the 4.0 liter back. I will believe it when I see them on the dealership floors.

I'll have a 2011 70th anniversary edition 2dr rubicon.

Orange. Diesel. 6 speed. Free.

My 2.8CRD JK performs just fine and it's a lot cheaper to run than my XJ.

I hope that new 'Stop Start' feature comes with an override or better still an after oiler for the turbo. It's pretty dumb idea for a manufacturer to leave a hot turbo spinning without any lubricating oil on the spindle. Unless of course you are making lots of money selling replacement turbos at emission test time.

Really? Don't those engines have more torque then the 4.0L? I'll believe itr when I see it.
