Havent found any clear answers on some stuff.

Should I replace the motor mounts? At least with OEM type?

Am I going to be able to run regular 87 octane fuel? Not looking for a powerhouse, just some more power, so no big compression is really necessary.

Its a 99XJ, will I be having any problems with a mild cam and stroker as far as the ECM goes? Will i keep up with the stroker with bigger injectors?

If they're bad. I would either way. http://browndogindustries.com/

Depends on what compression ratio you run but alot of the 4.6's can run 87

No you'll be fine, Yes If your running a 4.6 some 24# should do the trick.

Awesome page from Dino On recipe's http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/stroker.html

Then there's Maud'Dib's www.Jeepstrokers.com Which is full of great info.

my 4.7 can't run 87 during the summer months, in the winter when it cools down I am fine. I still generally run 89 at a minimum. It is not that much more a tank when you come down to it. .20c a gallon extra comes out to $4 or less a tank, and thats for premium. For some reason the idea of premium fuel costs scare people, it is not that much.

I replaced my mounts with OEM just because they needed replacement. They are now broken because I flog the stroker. Go with something stronger.

I run 87 in my 4.6, my pistons have a fairly deep dish (30cc). If I were to do it again I wouldnt dish them as deep in favor of more power. Mid or premium would be worth it to me.

My 97 is doing fine with cam and larger injectors.

You could go for MORE bombproof motor mounts. Expensive but superb.

Dish the pistons and deck the block to get the quench to .045 and the chances of ping are less. If you don't want to dish the pistons then get forged KB944's that have the dish built into them. Downside is cost 600 for the pistons and rings, or 200 + cost of dishing and rings.

I run the MORE MM and they are fine. With the stroker I do get more vibs from the motor as opposed to when they were on my 4.0. I have heard lots of good things about brown dog also.

Call Lunati and tell them what you are going for and they will recommend one. I told them mine was a DD/trail rig that was closer to trail rig, and they set me up with a cam that helped with low end torque. I'm really happy with it.

I spent too much and did the KB944's, lunati cam and lifter, 96+ head, fuel rail and intake, etc for my 89 but it is the best mod I have done for my XJ so far.

Situationally dependent
96+ head, fuel rail and intake

:dunno:
If your going to get a different head and intake/rails anyway why not do the
7120 and the 99+ intake
