Deer Valley Weekend of 8/27 Anyone?

My brother and I ran deer valley Saturday (yesterday) and camped at lower blue lake. We were both in XJ's, didn't see you guys though. Should have checked here before we left, always like meeting people.

The trail was fantastic and we all had a great time, looks like you all did too!

What time did you guys hit the trail? It would have been great to meet you as well. Next time :-)

Trip Report:

First off - It was great to see you guys :-) Got up there around 11:30pm on fri Night. Hit the trail around 11:00 on Saturday. The weather was poop - Cloudy and Windy but all in all it was a GREAT TRIP. Me, my sis and her bf had to be back in the bay area early on Sunday so we all ended up heading out on Saturday Evening. If I didn't ahve anything to do on sunday I would have stayed and ran Slick Rock on Sunday or played at the Lake.

As far as the maintenance run in October is concerned, it turns out the trail is already adopted by Hi-Lo 4x4 (I think that was a name) and they filled in the hole on Saturday. I was thinking a day trip might be fun though. Maybe leave early sat morning and stay the night in Murphy's, angels Camp or Arnold? We'll see as we get closer.

We hit the trail about 1 pm, ran from lower blue lake to hwy 4, then returned via pavement to lower blue lake to camp. It was FREEZING that night, I guess we picked the worst possible summer weekend!

damn i never made it!
the mods on my buddies jeep took us from 10am to 630 pm on friday due to many unforeseen complications!
and i was already running on 12 hours of sleep in 3 nights, so i crashed hard after 8 strong beers at the fox and goose , and two coronas and a old fashioned before that,
i was planning on waking up at 6am and heading out sat. i woke up at 11 and by then it was too late since i was terribly hungover and decided to tear the 4runner apart instead,

We are heading to slick rock this weekend for sure!

I wish I could have gone. But it's a good thing I wasn't able to. Sunday I drove about 1.5 miles to the mall and thought I smelled gas, but only once. On the way home I again got a couple of wiffs of gas. So as soon as I got home I popped the hood to see if I had a leak somewhere. A pin-hole in the fuel line about 5 inches from the fuel rail was spraying a nice fine mist about 12 inches up and to the side. Luckily it was spraying the air cleaner cover and not the engine/exhaust. Still, I guess I'm lucky my Jeep is still white not a custom char-broiled black. $67 for a new fuel hose from the dealer :gee: fixed the problem easy enough. Now I'm safe (?) to drive again.
