Deer Creek

So my girl has been bugging me about going out in the jeep and I had been wanting to head up Hwy 88 to check a few things out. So we came up with a plan to head up towards Blue lakes and run part of the Deer Creek trail and check out the lakes along the way for future kayak adventures.

We just ran out to the first crossing had lunch, relaxed in the nice weather, and fished a bit. I was surprised there were no signs not to cross the creek. Or is that the second crossing?






Really nice day to be out and about. Unfortunately the fish didn’t cooperate but we still had fun.

Gotcha. Saw a couple groups of bikes that ran it end to end. They didn't seem to be aware of any closure. Hopefully they will re-open it sometime in the near future.

I thought the trail was closed from the north side altogether ?
Just at the first crossing from the north side?

I hope not. The gate was open and no signs anywhere. Looks like it's been getting some traffic....

Nice pic's. I love that drive from Blue Lakes back to 88. Hope Valley has some really nice views as you drive through there. Hmm, maybe I'll be able to go in from Hermit and run up to the lookout in July.?.
