Dave's B-day run!!

I see this awesome trail repair is from a lack of regular maintenance.

I'll be next! You will see.

Sent from my butt since that's what I talk out of most the time!

Couldn't grease the lower ball joint. No zert fitting not even a spot for one. The top was plenty greased.

True! But look at the lower ball joint. It hasn't been greased since you were born. The way I see it is. The ball joint was so worn that it caused the universal joint to work outside of it's non-greased life's limit. So in affect they were both shot to begin with.

TORX's Hypothesis:

Preliminary reading: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1056175

Based off this, I assumed the broken shaft had been driven (distance is irrelevant).

1. Axle shaft likely went from clawing up the trail in front wheel drive. D30's aren't a fan of that.

2. After the joint let loose, the ears started to walk the ball joints out from binding. The inner shaft still was trying to power the wheel, but since the joint wasn't in tact it was binding with the outer stub. If they were worn, it certainly could have provided some extra give, but I don't think it was the main reason.

3. Ball joints say peace out, and the knuckle parts ways with the vehicle.

4. I'm guessing the axle hit the ground pretty hard, or at least had the weight of the Jeep on it.

5. That then buckled the upper control arm, which probably tweaked the track bar as well.

6. With the pinion angle now jacked up, the front drive line said peace out as well.

:dunno:

Enough with the arm chair diagnosis.. from the web wheelers :twak: Lets get some pics of the other events of the day.

Scott made it through crushers like a bat out of hell.

I didn't mean that your to blame. I understand that your rig is older and will need a little more love. I just looked at mine and it don't have zerts from the factory. For some reason I thought they did. One of the reasons you don't see me out wheeling any is because my junk needs so much work I am scared that would happen to me and I would be stuck there. I just don't have iron ballz like you!

Cherokee's are for kids and women. Grown ups wheel Wranglers!

I'll find my video camera when i get home from work today and start loading all the pics and vids from fb5 and crushers.

I didnt take many pictures, i will look through them and post any worthy ones. Nick was the last one to drive my junk so i dont know if there is anything other than my rear yoke that needs work. Took it off the trailer and parked it and left for my drive north.

My damage report consist of:
My rear bumper has tree sap all over it from a tree going into the filter of airplane hill to retrieve my tool box

Ripped off my a peice of my rocker covers.

Pretty sure my rocker on the passanger side is smashed but is covered so cant see.

Front driver tires rubs on fender badly when turning left

Thats it. Nothing compared to Aaron.lol
