thx im talkin to him now about an amc 20 or an 8.8 im not sure which i want. im leanin towards the 8.8 since it is better but i also need a front axle or at least new gearin for my d30 since i want 4.10 both front and rear. thx though.

I went with the 8.8 and am glad I did.
the rear disc brakes are great.
and I put in 4.88 gears
MORE has a 8.8 axle install kit.

I agree on the 8.8.
I purchased an 8.8 with 4.10's and disc brakes for ~$300 delivered
The disc brakes are a huge advantage. The only dislike I have for this axle is the huge pumpkin it possesses. I am really wanting to shave this puppy down, as it drags on everything. Not as bad with my 33's, but with the 32's, it was hanging me up quite often.
Price and functionality wise, it is my top pick.

You can get a D44 rear with discs and 4.10 from a '93+ Isuzu Amigo.

For an 8.8? Just get some for a Dana 60. Any drivetrain place should have them. I can't remember where I got mine, but it wasn't MORE and they were like $18 or so
