I don't know much (anything) about the disco housings. Anything I'd want to know if I was going to put a WJ swap on this axle? Any difference as far as putting a OTA track bar in? I take it with the block off plate it is permanently, reliably and bomb-proofedly "on"?

the block off plate is just a flat peice of steel with RTV thats all you really need honestly. thats all the kits are....
other than that, i dont see much of a difference between the older housings and the newer ones other than those sleeve inserts for the ball joints, thats all i can think of. other than that i dont think there are any differences??? the pass side uca mount seems to be stronger on the disco axles since it all one big cast peice

Jon- How is the tracbar mount? Is it factory at this point?

there is no trackbar mount.
the lower mounts may or may not need to moved out a tab wider, they are beefy, but angled in slightly.

there is a 4cyl XJ with 4.10s dana 30/35 combo at pnp in sunrise out here in sacto.
just so you guys know pnp charges 284$ + tax for a front end and 160$ for rear.
if someone wanted a cheap tempory 4.10 rear to match they could grab that...
