Dana 30 Carrier question

Will the Dana 30 carrier out of a JK work in a 97 Cherokee Dana 30?

I need real knowledge on this before I proceed.

The carrier should be the same for any D-30 provided it is the same ratio.

The carrier break on the D-30 is 3.73

I have heard that:

A) There is no carrier break on a JK D30. They use thick gears to offset.
B) A JK D30 requires thrust shims...

I don't have a definitive answer, but I really believe it is different. A quick call to any drivetrain or gear vendor will tell you......in about 2 minutes.

I hadn't heard that and I own a JK but I will take your word for it:exclamati
