It's icy and slicker than snot here. I've got BFG ATs so I've always done well on road but it was bad driving home from Sand Springs to Skiatook (OK). At times I could just breath on the skinny pedal and the tires would break loose. I tried to pull a pickup back on to the road but it was so slick I was sliding off sideways from the crown in the road even when stopped :wow:. Ended up driving in the ditch for traction in a few spots. The XJ did a lot better than most cars on the road. On the hill up to my house I passed a dozen stuck/slow cars and trucks, many driving up the dirt. I just went up the middle of the road and weaved around them. My 35 minute drive took 2.5 hours today.

yikes it took me a half hour to make it 4 miles to the shop this morning...i threw an old chrysler flat head 6cyl motor in the back of my pickup last night with the fork lift....in hopes id get some traction....traction....thats funny....i have 4 wheel drive.....too bad i have 6 wheels :(

Silly Texans! Everything in Denton is closed, but I drove to work just fine. My boss is from South Dakota, so he has no fear of the "bad weather" here either.

Yep. My school is closed for the day and its not even that bad out. Didnt have class today anyways.

we got a bunch of sleet last night so driving was just fine today. No problems at all, just a bunch of cars off the road from yesterday.

People up north talk about handling the weather, but they don't get ice like we do here. Sleet and snow is nothing compared to freezing rain.

I drive in that stuff year round, I grew up at 10,000 feet where the roads are white inches of snow pack from Oct till April. And from time to time you get a July 4th dusting. (Dusting = anything less then 3") Even if it snows 3 feet there is still school :( my my school hasnt had a snow day in over 30 years.

I had a blast driving in to work. We got sleet and snow so traction was good and it felt like the jeep was a sports car on those back roads. Going 40-50 felt like 80-100 and I was passing everyone who was going 25-30.

Is there some limit to how fast you should go in 4hi?
