This particular one was out of an 86 Trooper. In the research I did, I found that there were two or three different variations used in Troopers from the mid 80s through the late 90s. The latest one is actually comparable to a D60 in both ring gear and shafts size, but is much wider than I was looking to use. This axle has an 8.66" ring gear and 1.32" shafts. Pretty comparable to an 8.8 with 1.31" shafts. I wasn't thrilled about converting a 44 front to the still-wrong 5x5.5" lug pattern only to have to adapt my 8.8 to that, so the Zuzu seemed like a good option.
Then I kept breaking my 30 and asked myself: why aren't I just getting a 60? And couldn't come up with a good answer, so I bought a 60. But I will stop now since I want to sell this stuff. :shhh:
