d30 U joint help!

Hi Guys
I have a D30 in my 89, I need to pick up a spare u-joint because I'm leaving for the rubicon today. Will the 297X work in place of the stock U-joint?

No. The caps are the wrong size.

You've either got 260 series, or CV joints.

If memory serves me..... there is approximately a 5 mm difference between the 260X and 297X U-joint caps.
Might consider looking for a set of axle shafts with 297X to upgrade the the 260X.
Lots of vehicles (YJ, TJ, XJ, ZJ) have them after 1995.

I would definetely pick up a set of axle shafts to go with that joint. In my experience, when the joint fails, it takes out the ears of the shaft as well... If you are buying shafts anyway, definetely go for the 297x (or 760 for the new one)...
