I know one of my issues when installing axle shafts on an XJ was dragging the splines through the tubes.
Seems like no matter how careful I was, the splines would end up on the tube!
Recently, I did an axle shaft replacement on my D30 equipped JKU and found that they used guides to keep the shaft splines from scrapping on the tubes when you put them in. I figure that a D30 shaft on a JKU and a XJ are the same, so here is the MOPAR P/N >> 68004090AA .
