thinking about getting the currie 9" axle with the detroit true trac 4-10 gears and the rear disc brakes for my 97 that has 31"s and a automatic. any one with this set up?

If you are going to stay with 31"s I woudnt suggest you go with a 9" rear Just MHO

I certainly wouldn't spend that kind of money and put a "True-trac" in!

Currie is quite reasonable among custom axle builders.

That said, a 9" is way overkill for 31's. Your 8.25, 29 spline axle is quite up to the job of 31" tires.

Just saw your other post........I would still stick with the 8.25. Throw in some Dutchman shafts ($250 a pair, with studs), some new bearings, and replace the limited slip with a diff of your choice.

A 44 from an XJ is also a good choice, and the costs to either rebuild your 8.25 or buy a $400 XJ 44 is about the same, once you get done with re-gearing and adding a TAD.
