Correcting Shackle Angle, How I Did Mine [pics]

I could tie the box into the cage, or build another box off of the sleeved frame. Its hard to explain it, but i'll have some time to think of something fully before I get it done. I really don't see why so many people think the box is going to fail all of a sudden, yes its not the strongest peice (the stock box) but it will hold up to abuse. Its not like you hear about people ripping them off left and right (but YES it has happened). Me, im not too worried...

freerider, i finally did my version of your box. It basically looks exactly like yours. Mine ended up giving me about 1.5" of lift. My initial shackle angle wasn't as bad as yours to begin with. It was angled forward a bit whereas yours was angled back. Anyhow, it now sits at a perfect 45* angle. I think the next step will be to cut off my shock mounts and reweld them on higher up to improve clearence and correct my shock length. THe only thing i'm worried about now is that my shackle is def the limit of my departure angle. I never really noticed before if it was, but i really havent ever hit my springs or bumper before, so we'll se how it goes. if it causes a problem, i can always take the things off.

I'll post up some pics when i get home from the lab today
