Or I could do a truck with a topper, that way I can stay at the campground if its just me......

The van works great for me. Averaged 12 mpg on the Colorado trip, mostly above the speed limit. If I didn't have all the tool cabinets in there, it would be more than roomy enough for 2 or even 3 people to sleep in.

Getting twice the mpg of the Winnebago on the longer trips more than pays for hotels, especially since full hook-up campsites anywhere good are usually $35+ per night.

Suburban/Excursion and trailer. Fits a queen size air mattress with the 3rd row seat out, keeps your stuff dry and comfortably hauls the family as a DD.

Driving or living in places were people have died always concerns me for some reason...

mac 'lives two houses from a cemetary tho' gyvr

this is my next step

At least I think this would be a cool way to go...I got the truck to pull it...

mac 'tho that is more $$ than the other enclosed I was looking at' gyvr

I voted for the RV. Only if you'll invite me in for drinks and further entertainment.

Ive had a motorhome since the early 90s. Ive towed Cherokees and Wranglers 10s of thousands of miles behind them. First as a class c 26' Ford 460 drum brakes in rear. It wasnt the best stopping but OK. The present is a 32' class A Ford V10 4wheel disks stops on a dime.
NOW is the time to buy a used unit they are dirt cheap.
The reason for a motor home is traveling with FAMILY. Gotta piss just pull off to the side of the road and use the john inside. Get to the campground late at nite? Just back in plug in and your ready to go to bed. No setting up or take down. Its dry and warm inside so the wife will be more apt to want to go more often. We had years we were out in the camper 50+ nites.
Be sure to get one with a generator so you can run the rooftop A/C while going down the road.

go with a truck, long gooseneck with a camper on the gooseneck, then you still have your truck for regular use
