I am sure it is Harbor frieght quality!

I would spend a little more for a good one, you would realy kick your self if it broke/did not work when you needed it most. That is my thought on all recovery gear, it may work great, but I get what I know works for sure.

there is good stuff that comes from HF, my grinder works like a charm. I have logged many hours on it,and it still works great. And for $15 your can't beat it. Besides, a farmers jack is a very simple machine, not many moving parts on it...

"comealong jack" = Farm Jack? not same by name
gotcha, I don't know why he called a comealong a "jack", I just had a brain fart, I don't know what I was thinking. You are correct letterman

maybe he was talking about the farm jack? I duno

I have a bunch of Harbor fraight tools too, grinders, notchers, I even have one of there welders. I love them, nice and cheep, they do work, and if you break them you are not out big $$

My thought is do you really want to risk your rig or life on a cheep product? I prefer to spend a little more on recovery gear. Get the trail tested, high quality, stuff to keep your rig and life safe.

p.s. I do have the HF Farm Jack, but I would never trust any High lift jack with my life, I have busted a few ribs from a high lift jack.:thumbdn:

i dont know why i called it a jack (stupid) but i figure for 20 bucks right now i cant go wrong you know.... down the road i can buy a more expencive one but if it works once then it was worth it and if it fails it was only 20 buck ya know

True, unless you on the side of a hill and half your rig is haning off a ledge, and it fails, and . . .

I have been there, on that hill side just thinking "I hope this thing don't break" and wished I dropped the extra $40 for a good comealong. On the other hand I have been with out any recovery gear at times, and wished I just had something. Your call.

No big deal calling a comealong a jack, if that is what you were talking about, or did you mean the Hight lift farm jack?

which welder of theres do you have because i am looking at getting a welder... i was looking at there 220v stick welder

I wouldn't recomend any welders from Habor Frieght unless they carried the name of Hobart. The one I had was stolen and that made me happy. It was a POS mig, just remember you want a duty cycle over 30% and at a minimum of 120 amps. Otherwise it will only be good for sheetmetal.

If you can fork over the cash and have some batteries, I replaced my welder with this one.

I found mine on Ebay for about $30 less. I was also able to find three 12V batteries for it. I figure it will do the job for anything in my shop and I can take it on the trail.

I have a Hobart, but it is just ok, I am looking to spend some good $$ on a nice Miller.

I got this from Harbor Frieght but I did not pay for it, I had ordered a bender for $49.95 and got the $350 welder. I guess someone shipped the wrong item to me, if it was not for this I would never have gotten the HF Hofart welder.
