No pic handy but pretty much completely stock with a bench seat and OEM seat belts. This rig will be 'done' with 37s with front and rear D60s. I want to use it as a streetable and very capable off road rig. I have a buggy that needs assembly at the house for the heavy duty stuff.
I went back and forth with friends and what not and we decided that I would gain little structural strength by cutting in the cab and running tubework behind the seat versus having it set 8" back farther and going through the bed of the truck so the cab is tube free.
One day I may run a tube inside for more significant belts.
Found one of those rare "Street Comanche" MJ's at one of our junk yards couple days ago. Absolutely nothing good on it and missing all but these pieces of the ground effects kit the dealer installed on 'em. It had the factory black console and dash but pretty much everything else was bashed/destroyed or missing........ shame.
The 230K mile silver '88 is gone, picked up 2 more.....
'88 Eliminator 2wd 4.0 5 spd. Rough, but looks cool and runs well. I just finished the '98 clip and doors swap. Has a D44 rear with 4:56's. Pretty quick off the line...... terrible highway truck.... :laugh3: Probably going to return it to stock, sell off the tires/wheels and keep the D44, then sell it...... the next MJ explains why.
My "holy grail of MJ's" find...... well, probably as close to the perfect MJ as I'll ever find.... '91 Eliminator, 4x4, 4.0, 5 speed, A/C, PS/PB, Cruise, bucket seat-console interior, incredible body and decent paint. Super straight all around....... still running like a top and passing emissions like a new car........ with 250K.
