Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

On a side note I always find it interesting when a sales person who sells jeep stuff all day long does not know some really basic stuff like that the very first year of the TJ it was set up like an XJ coil front leaf rear ...lol...had an expert swear up an down that never existed but yet our 97 was just that ...lol...comeback was "must had been modded"...my reply nope stock brand new off the lot in 97 ...lol...hence the reason I always use caution going by an experts word.

I call bullshit

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I call bullshit

Really...lol...you can call it all day long fact is the first year of the TJ was coil/leaf and a man who works at the walmart of 4x4 parts stood there telling me the TJ we bought new in 97 off the lot did not exist...can't argue it when it is something bought brand new first hand stock from the dealer not web info.

LoL...let me clarify we actually owned a brand new TJ bought in 97 new off the dealer lot bone stock and that was the set up coil/leaf , so you lose ...lol...unless you think it was a one off ...BUSTED...oh and in 97 I was only 21 by we I mean my folks bought it as it was my moms Jeep it lasted Two years before it was hit by a Dodge and totaled out it was replaced with a WJ and she hated it as she could not see well out of it and she got a 2002 sahara...I recall that bent chunk of metal sitting in the garage during the insurance peocess and it had leafs in the back...what was lect of it...when she got the 2002 I noticed the difference .

I will have to confirm with my Dad if for sure he bought it new no miles from the dealer...it certainly was stock looking and my dad ...lol...has never lifted or modified anything he's owned I guess it is possible but highly unlikely a person would convert in 1997 a rear coil link to leafs on a stock Jeep or that my dad would buy anything not stock ...it would also be the only vehicle he had ever bought used so I assume it was new. but I MAY BE WRONG....lol...that happens...often .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I have never heard of that either. I think your 21 year old self was smoking too much green stuff .

No I had not smoke pot ubtil 23...lol...It was bought late 97 looked bobe stock on 29s from a dealer my old man never bought a car private sale ...now I assume it was no miles new since I have never known the old nan to buy used , but it being a second car for my Mom he nay have bought one. with miles on it from the dealer I can't see anyone taking the rear link suspension off in favor of leafs especially on a stocker or my Dad knowingly buying it modified since he is modifies nothing from stock ...I'll have to ask him if it was for sure a non pre owned , but leafs in the rear it did have he had a 97 xj at that time and I recall noticing the difference when he bought my Mom her 02 Sahara ... I guess anything is possible if it was preowned even if stock on 29s.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Asked the old Man he said it was new ...lol...first he said it had leaves in rear , which is what I thought I recall seeing when the wrecker dumped it off waiting for insurance man to look at it ...then he said no it did have coils , so it was new and did have coils...lol...for all these years I swore that 97 had a set of leafs in back ...oh well I was into fast cars then not Jeeps , and I looked at that Allpar site as well as 4wheelandoffroad which stated the TJ had no quirky first crossover year for parts ...But no surprise since my memory of that wrecked Jeep has been wrong for over Two decades , well almost Two decades.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Headed up to Wyoming today. I-25 around 11:30AM just north of Fort Collins both lanes were occupied by some huge oversize tractor trailer. It was wide enough that it took both northbound lanes (could not pass). The truck was going about 55-65 MPH and had a CSP escort vehicle too. Anyone have any idea what they were moving?

Seen them move oil field stuff on 76 doing the same thing .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If I could've gotten a clear picture I would have but I was a few cars back. It was more squarish. Honestly when I saw it it looked like a hot tub that was 2 lanes wide, completely wrapped in black tarps.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Looks pretty sick....anemic that is.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That thing looks pretty cool, except the fact that it looks like the belly of that thing hangs as low as centerline of the axles...wtf is that about

Looks like it's setup similar to an Ultra4 car....trailing arms pretty much flat with the belly. Probably isn't the final ride height either.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It's build is in the gen fab areas on pirate. It is a goat built center kit modified to his own chassis.

Good to know, I'll have to go check it out. Looks like a sweet build.
