This one was an ex U.S. Forest Service XJ owned by a Colorado Springs member. The guy went by "HollisM16" and he dropped big bucks on making this one sweet multipurpose rig. Both he and his XJ met untimely, early demises. Hollis rolled that Jeep a few years back and parted it out. Then, shortly after that he found that his cancer had returned and he passed away in a very short time after that.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Jeff and Jim, thank you for your thoughts, also. Jim, I would have liked to let you two old soldiers get together again. He'd ask about you every once in a while, when we were talking guns. He thought you were alright. :-)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Thank you Flores and Fred. He really was a good guy. Jim, you did meet him when we picked up that Kel-TEC. He got a kick out of walking around all those people with that thing folded up.

Unlimited made a guest appearance at Ft. Logan, and made the day just a bit easier.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Steve I'm real sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Be thankful for the times you had/shared. Be well my friend.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

He met a few of you at a meet and greet, and Troy bought some rims from him once. I never took him wheeling, but he liked my hobby, and was glad that I took my boys out to share the outdoors.

Thanks, Dad. See you on the other side.
Was that the first car crush? If memory serves, we did yak it up a little. I have searched my photos from that day, but don't see your pops. :(

This is close as I get to his legacy:

Thank you, Fever. Yep, Mike, that's the day. He was hanging out with the pizza that showed up. Thanks for taking the time to dig that up.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Just remembering with you...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I know how hard it is, Steve - it gets better with time, though, the missing becomes time with fond memories instead of just sorrow. I'll raise a glass to your Dad.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So I'm finally here! Got in yesterday and unloaded the truck. I'm loving it here. Boulder is actually really nice. I see a lot of lifted Jeeps and the scenery is gorgeous. I had a fun 20 hour drive here. My ZJ's aftermarket trans cooler cracked and started leaking. I had to keep topping it off the whole trip lol.
