No, it's actually a hitch mounted cargo box..... i failed to get it into the shot. I'm guessing that he built it with all the leftover camper siding and trim. There's not a dimple anywhere in that camper body so I believe it got re-skinned. The thing was just super clean and squared away.

Although offered that year, I would hope that even a rudimentary grasp of aerodynamics would preclude the installation of the slant 6 (although a fine engine when kept within its limits) in this heavy, beautiful brick.

This is a pretty big oops. As in really big. Trailer is screwed. Buried to the rails. Landing gear is completely buried in the very thick and heavy mud. Speaking up heavy, it's still loaded too. Yep. Moron.

totally. guy dropped it, saw It start to sink and left, called his boss and said "I think I ****ed up" I wish I got pic of the pickup that pulled that thing out. just a winch/tow truck big ol chevy. had wheels and the whole front end in the air pulling it out. was awesome.

Just curious...... but if that's where the guy is supposed to park the trailer...... how is it the driver's fault?
Can't tell, but is that a building with loading docks they're backed up to?
Why are they having trucks in that muck at all???
Were there stacks of cut plywood he was supposed to lay down before parking it?
I'd be pissed if I got in trouble for that. What else was the guy supposed to do?

Shove his truck back under it as it was sinking.
Everyone knows droppings loaded trailer is risky.
The short ones can flip forward pulling the rear axles off the ground

The docks I used to shag at, had concrete pads for the landing gear. Park a loaded trailer on asphalt and it will sink.
The way we were trained, soon as you back under a trailer, it and its contents were your responsibility. I had a few incidents over those years, as well as a few coworkers. Worst was when a guy dropped an empty trailer. He looked it over, did not see any problems. Two days later, the route driver was returning empty when the cross bearers started dropping. The shag driver got wrote up for not taking the trailer out of service, so it could be inspected by the fleet mechanics.
The moral of the story is, doing what you are told to do, and what you are supposed to do, may not be the same thing at all times.

So basically if the business at which the driver is supposed to drop a trailer has a shit lot making it risky if not probable that the trailer will be stuck and/or damaged......
The driver needs to go to the nearest solid ground area and drop the trailer, and tell the business where they can find the trailer?
Sucks for the OTR guys..... No responsibility for the business to have/keep appropriate parking areas?

He was provided what are basically railroad ties to toss under the landing gear to help eliminate sink.
And to top it off, he left a gap from landing gear to ground, dropped his bags, and dropped the trailer super low to the ground - as if he were on asphalt and empty.

This isn't OTR or a business with a lot or side streets. Its a rig. They accommodate and make things happen when weather or mud makes shit difficult. That's part of the life, making changes. He has stop work authority and could have told them it was too risky, find me a better location to drop this. He is paid hourly.
