Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ya that vid makes me happy. Lotsa power. Think he is 3000+ lb/ft with that thing. Ridiculous. Would be rad.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So as you might remember I was considering the frontier/xterra package as well as the Titan. I can't tell ya how happy I am I went with the Titan. It's still in the shop right now getting fixered up and I got a 2014 frontier as rental. It's a nice truck. And coming from the dodge or a jeep the power would likely feel fine. But after the Titan it feels like an underpowered chincy dog. Gets same fuel mileage average as the Titan (both at about 17) but doesn't have any get up and go vs the Titan. My brothers 4.7 wk stepped out a little in front of it and stayed there from a dig through 90 or so. The traction control system is frustratin even when turned 'off'. Interior has the basic and clean lines I like but feels a bit cheesy compared to Titan. Be a great camper mild wheeler rig. But for dd the frontier is not were it is at.

Mine was a 98 ram with the 5.2 on 35's. Was a pig.
And a jeep xj on 35's/37's. Also a pig.

the 5.2 and stock gears in a heavy ram with 35s could be a bit slow ,but the ZJ I had with 35s and 4:56 with 5.2 was not . As for the XJ ...lol...they are dogs with 35-37s ...my XJ on the road is like a dead dog .

SOOO..... True!! :laugh::laugh:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm pretty sure that's because you all need superchargers just to reach 1 bar at the manifold :spin1:

That being said, I do rather enjoy the setup I have on my DD XJ right now... 205/70r15s (25" rolling diameter!), 3.55s, and an AX15. I can break a rear wheel loose on dry pavement doing 40 if I downshift and mat it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Did you say... Supercharger?

I can attest that having one under the hood completely changes the way the XJ drives. I had it into the Dealership to have the transmission shift kit installed and they were shocked at how nice the road manners are. It just goes where you point it with no fuss, muss or bother.

Pretty sure I made some converts that day. And on only 8 pounds of boost (9.6 at sea level).

P285/75R16 running 4:56 gears.

Thing about superchargers is not just being able to break traction (although, I can from a stop. Both wheels hopping as it has a Detroit Locker in back...) it is being able to drive the lifted, big tired rig on the open road without any issues at all. Ask Doug Bell what he thinks. He drove it a while back. Get his impression.

I will never go back to a stock engined XJ. Never...

Which means, if/when I replace the Wife's Full Sized Bronco ('96, last year) with an XJ, it will have to have an SC installed.

Fortunately that is not a problem.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Pandora Radio really let me down today at the office....

I was trying to quietly synchronize a fart with Creedence Clearwater Revival's song "Travellin' Band," and a nano-second before I released the beast, the G'Damn online feed cut out and everyone in the office heard it.

The plan was, squeeze tightly until the 2nd Chorus and let it out between "Someone got excited" and "Had to call the State Militia."

It was more like "Someone got exc.......... TTTHTHHPPPPHHHTHHHH"................."Pppp"

Re: The Colorado BS thread

:roflmao:

Can't tell you how many times I've been busted at work...... 2-3 am, the substation is supposed to be empty, the team is out on the street....... I let a raspy one loose and some swing-shifter is still hanging around. Pokes his head into my office.... "Damn, you alright?"

:shhh:

OK...I've let this marinate long enough. What exactly are you not digging about this? Is it all the badges that Subaru feels are necessary to adorn their vehicles with? The hideous color on those wheels? Maybe the tow hook (unless he/she is taking it to the track)? What appears to be license plate mud flaps (which I can't for the life of me comprehend)? Or a combination of the above?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yes on the wheels.... Nasty colour that.

Yes on the "mud flaps? What were they thinking...

The tow location bothers me not at all unless it is not structural, then, bleh.

I know, from living with one, that Subaru makes a fine car. They make investments that Jeep just refuses to do. Such as the number of fasteners that hold the interior together. Go ahead, pull 6 screws on a Subi binnacle and see if it comes off. Not a chance... You have at least another half dozen to pull.

But then, the interiors do not rattle either...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Im thinking the "size matters" badge over the liscence plate.
lol, my money is on the mud flaps though

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I would agree on the tow hook. That's a factory tow hook and pretty sure in the location it's meant for.

Oh...I did not even see the "Size Matters" badge. I need to get my glasses. Is that really what is says?

And I also agree that they make a fine car. I have 2 of them. You are spot on with the interior fasteners too. Cripes even the floor mats are overly secured. But...our 2011 has this rattle that I may have figured out yesterday. It's in the buckle portion of the seatbelt but only the passenger side. Not internally but something going on down where it bolts to the seat. I undid it and used a thin layer of white lithium grease and think I've finally won.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Who TF puts a size matters badge on their car? Wait...I think if I look back at the overall car I can answer that question.

Lol...these are the same folks that are silly enough to underestimate a race with a Diesel pickup in a straight line where cornering don't help you get away .
