Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If I had the $$$, and I wanted to buy v.s. build, I'd look this one over.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

You said ignore the locker. It's a stock low pinion d44. I've purchased a few at that price when I worked with josh.
What shocks. 5150's vs 7100's are total price difference. I just sold the r e coils and leaf packs for 100 and I made money vs what I purchased for. Again. Are the parts actually new.

The seats look like well used zj seats which at the jy or a parted rig on cl are super cheap. I'm not saying it's not worth 4k but people seem to think shit is worth gold. Only real valuable crap in that rig are the motor and air locker. Everything else is had cheap and easily.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I installed new gauges on my cafe racer (speedo and tach). The manufacturer advised mounting them with some sort of rubber isolator to keep vibrations down and improve lifespan. I took a bushing that was about 1/2" tall and put it between the mounting plate and triple tree. Problem is that once the bolt is tight enough to keep the gauge from moving, that bushing is pretty well squished. Anyone have any better ideas?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

use a grommet type bushing mount like you would find on streebike to mount gas tank to the frame

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If there is room, you can use the same isolators that Harley used on the Shovel Head oil tanks. A rubber piece with an attached stud on each end. only issue with them is that the rubber is around 1/2" or so thick so they take up space.

Work though and are robust.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

well some jerkoff was racing up the road and rear ended my truck. FAWSOME. Douche bag.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

so this is the deal. Youll see im turning into a court. That's where I live.
This mustang slowed and signaled turning on the street before mine. I passed as he nosed in and continued to my street where I signal and turned in. BOOM Truck gets slammed and I see parts off the mustang go flying. He cancelled his turn onto his street to come ride my ass as he didn't like me passing as he turned in to his street. He apparently didn't see the brakes, or turn signal. these are results.

Him picking up his grill.

He hit me with the front of his car, you can see where my truck went up and over the hood, then down the side until his car wedged under my truck before coming to a stop. This is a 15mph residential mind you

I just got this truck so I wanna cry, but I am happy with how little damage it took

Especially compared to his POS

Thankfully for my DAC this doesn't effect me (CDL driver) and truck seems ok, and I don't feel bad yet. Hoping I don't tense up tonight.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ASSHATTERY!!!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

from what I saw in quick inspection (jesus it got cold fast) its just bumper, bed, potentially tailgate. The little storage box actually looks sound minus the door to it. And I saw no frame damage. Bed is crumpled really good and tailgate wont open.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

FWIW chris, you can see when he hit me hard enough to toss my truck over his a pillar before I crushed his door and rear 1/4. And it didn't feel too bad at all in the titan. Damage was minimal and my only injury is my heart for the truck being damaged. I am veyond impressed with how it took the hit. As was the LEO

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Jim can confirm, but I think the stang may be totaled... never good when both the a and b pillers, and maybe the c (that fastback window looks tweaked) get crinkled. Glad it won't be on your dime.

I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with a rear quarter on yours, not good that the tailgate won't open, the inside may be uglier than out on that quarter.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ya he got towed off. You can see in the pics from the front, he nosed under me, my truck went up and over the a-pillar then came down on the door. he literally hit me hard enough to clear his a pillar and windshield. I think its totaled.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

What a maroon. I bet he's crying in his beer about his Little fit of road rage and it's consequences.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I bet he's working himself into a rage because it is all your fault, actually.

At least in his head. People who make shitty decisions like that rarely have the self awareness to realize they are at fault.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Sadly, that's probably right on Ken. What an asshat.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Eh. He knows where I live. And I, him. I don't think he will act up. He was all fiery at first. Then broke down when cops showed up and slowed his roll.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

What a dickhole. I'm sorry about your new ride, Mike. :(

The good news is his insurance will get subrogated against and hopefully he'll have to buy his next policy from a company in the Caymen Islands. My hope is that the damage to his car exceeded 70% and they total it. Pricks like that don't deserve fast cars. This time it was your truck - next time it could be a little kid.

I pledge, that if I'm ever the victim in a rear end collision, I'm going to roll out of the driver's side door holding my neck, fall to the ground screaming - with Frank Azar's number already dialed in my cell phone, giving you ninjas a thumbs up on the stretcher as they wheel me away. Sounds scummy, but I need new shocks.
