Any recommendations on a quality whole home humidifier that is patched into our HVAC unit? I've been reading some mixed reviews on the Honeywell units they sell at HD.

Does anyone here have experience with one of these? It's so dry in here (9%) our wood floors are starting to bow.

My humidifier is a Honeywell. It does fine. I would stay away from the type that has moving parts.

I'm not sure it will solve your wood floor issues as ours tend to expand and contract seasonally.

The only 2 downsides are that the windows fog up or freeze up on the inside and you must turn the humidifier off when running the ac or else the condensing unit freezes up.

Did you get the Honeywell that has the fan or without the fan? There are so many mixed reviews I've been reading on both versions.

HVAC work makes me a little timid. And I've also got PEX tubing throughout this whole house so I'm unsure how to tap into my water line. The accessory kit for the Honeywells is only for copper tubing.

Lol. Here I say avoid moving parts and you reminded me that mine does have a fan.

I don't know what options there are for PET tubing, but there must be something available for tapping into a water line. Mine is tapped right above the hot water tank (copper).

As far as install, I had mine done but I have had it apart for cleaning and to replace the soaking element (can't remember what it is called). I did install one in my first house, and the only bad part was cutting the crap out of myself on the ductwork.:dunce:

I'd probably splice a piece of copper in the pex with a couple of sharkbite fittings, and then saddle the copper for the humidifier...

I had a catalytic converter for the 99 Accord for sale, and agreed to meet the guy in Castle Rock, since it seems no one in COS works on 99 Accords.

First off, I wake up late, and see I have to be at Founder's parkway at noon. I get the jeep loaded up, and go to start it. No start, air compressor ran all night. Manage to jump it with a spare battery. Drove to Castle Rock holding my breath since one of the passenger ball joints is toast. No death wobble, amazing. Had it up over 80. Get there, he isn't where he was supposed to be, but managed to find him. We're chatting behind some building, I left the jeep running just in case. He had built a really, really nice Hurst Jeepster back in the 80's. This guy was from Boulder, close to my age, had on sandals with wool socks. As I'm leaving, we notice coolant coming from my jeep, I thought it was just because I had left the electric fan off. It wasn't overheating when I got in, and when I drove off, the temp came down.

Long about the campground exit south of Castle Rock, I realized it wasn't going to make it so I pulled off. Popped the hood, and there was a heater hose with a hole in it. Called El Presidente, and he suggested what should have been obvious to me, of just bypassing the heater with the good return hose. Went to the campground office, had to buy small water bottles. Back on the highway, the temp was okay, but I still had Monument hill to get over, so I stopped in Larkspur and bought a gallon of antifreeze. It took that plus some more water, and we got home just fine.

After buying beer, I about broke even on the trip, not counting the original cost of the catalytic converter.

Got a new-to-me truck.

sometimes too good to be true isn't (I hope)-- rebuilt-from-salvage title = 1/2 off 2012 sticker price for a 2012 with 12k on the clock... I crawled through this thing with a fine toothed comb, and if I didn't know it, I would not believe it had been in an accident. I literally could not identify what had been repaired. I wouldn't think it had left a dealer's lot new, to be honest...

Jeep will be for sale shortly, in case you guys know anyone interested. Stomper as well.

That's a clean ass truck chris. I love the titans. cant beat a good deal on it too. sucks you are getting rid of the toys, but cool to have that clean ass ride. :thumbup:

ETA is that a pro4x? looks like the pro4 wheels????

I was really looking at the Frontiers and kind of wish I'd gone that route over the JK. They're very nice trucks.

werd. I decided I had way too much on my plate. I had a commuter subi that seemed to be falling apart (yet still running, its a subi), a Jeep that I just can't find the time to pay attention to little things, and a stomper that is glorified yard art. Subi got traded for the Titan, and the other two will get some priority attention to get sold, since I just bit off an auto payment, and I don't like those...

I'll admit its taking a little time to get used to the size of a full-size crew cab, even with the short 5'6" bed. I tried to park in my normal slot at the office this morning and, uh, no.
