Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This tattoo BS needs to be dropped. The military needs to put this effort into taking care of our vets. THIS would improve their overall appearance.......

Good Luck. This country has a long and storied history of abusing the Wounded Warrior. The preferred method is to kick them to the curb and hope they die, quietly, before any civilian notices.

Other countries hold their Military in high regard. Great Britain is, perhaps, the best of the lot.

If I sound bitter, it would be due to my getting kicked to the curb after I got out. I was actually 4F when inducted and the USAF attempted to discharge me, whilst in Basic Training, for a medical condition that was "existing prior to service". So far, so good. Then, USAFMPC made the determination that even though my condition was well documented and obvious to anyone with eyes in their head, I was upgraded to 1A because...

"A competent Military Medical Officer has reviewed the case".

What happened was I walked into the Majors office and sat down. He asked me one question and did not even bother to take a look. He asked, "Is it hurting you right now?" Being truthful, I replied, no. It was at that point that I became 1A. Never mind that the manual he should have looked at distinctly says 4F.

When I was told that I was going to be kept in, I was told that I had no worries as the condition then became Service Connected.

So, after my right knee collapsed while standing on the wing of an EC-121D aircraft which caused me to fall to the ramp, I was taken off the flight line and assigned desk duty.

Then the time comes for me to leave. As I was on very restrictive waivers, the decision was made to give me a parting "physical". Something that normally did not happen. And guess what... As if by magic, my condition which deteriorates and has neither cure nor effective treatment, was gone. I was declared 100% good and kicked to the curb. All without any form of actual diagnostics. Not even an X-ray...

Thus started the near 10 year fight which I lost.

The reason I lost?

"A competent Military Medical Officer has reviewed the case".

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ya know those stupid rubber PCV tube connectors that go on the breather elbows on the valve cover? The ones that get hard, dry out and crack and break?

Found a great fix...........

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Looks like 2 door rear glass. That's awesome, I bet it makes for all kinds of storage space. Looks like they might have also moved the rear seat back some, I bet that makes it possible for real sized adults to sit back there with some comfort.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That's pretty awesome.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If that's not a photoshop, that is some really impressive bodywork since the rear door is probably 4-door rear top and a 4-door front bottom section. Jealous. That would be super nice, and the wheelbase would be sweet.

Public works built the bridge and then we hauled 25 barriers up from the CDOT facility on I-76 and Federal up to Lyons and then put them in place. I had 17 of them on my step-deck and it was way loaded down. I should have scaled it to see what she weighed. All I know is my trailer tires looked flat despite being fully aired up. We got the other 8 onto our roll-off and then hauled the bucket loader around with our Freightliner and low-boy. That bucket is a 60's era Alis-Chalmers and really beats you up. I love it though because it sits for months at a time and always starts up when we need it. It never breaks and always gets the job done. Simple, rugged, and tough all in one ancient package.

Anyways, that was my Saturday.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Good on you and your crew Dutch! Nice to see progress being made up there.

Yeah that Chero-Burban is a total photoshop. You can see the extra roof rack leg and other cues.

I can see that having two rows of back seats given where the 2-door rear section rear seat is, and where the 4 door rear seat would be in relation to the rear doors. But that "back" seat would be a bitch to get in/out of so you'd pretty much have to customize the floor to accept 2 2-door bucket seats in the middle. The flip forward seats and adjustable tracks would make rear bench seat pretty realistically useable and accessible.

I'm just envisioning the interior...... Front and mid bucket seats, dual center consoles, a second overhead console with DVD set up, a completely fold down 3rd seat - that cargo area would be pretty huge and still have seating for 4......

Now, fabbing all that up, and keeping things stout enough to keep the roof from buckling is a whole 'nuther issue........ :looney: Sure would be cheaper to just buy a Suburban.....LOL!

But I dig the look and concept......
