Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Is your cervical spine going to welcome a bad motor scooter?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Damn smart ass lawyers. The position is really upright and I'm wanting this to be a project that will end up being a scoot around town kinda bike instead of riding it for 18 hours straight kinda bike. Truth is I could ride my bicycle for 1 hour each night but that doesn't sound like much fun.

These are the guys that I've used for the old 63' Bobber that I built.

IIRC you'll need to get a bond in-order to do it, but it's been probably 5 years since I last did one and my memory is junk.

Hope this helps.

Just looking out for ya man!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I passed on it. Guy didn't wanna answer my questions about the title. Sounded shady.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

The XJ went to its new owner last night, no more unit body soccer mom Jeep for me. Now I've just got the yuppy-tastic soccer mom jeep.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Oh come on, my stinger isn't that short.

Yeah, I was getting some groceries in my grocery getter. Were you the guy in the pickup that was staring at me all weird?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I ran 1.8 miles today. The Toyota Yaris I 'm driving feels spritely. Got to love sea level.

Hahaha. No. I drive a Subaru Impreza and parked next to your XJ. I did get out and stare at it for a few seconds after noticing the chapter sticker. Then snapped a pic of it but I was too lazy to post it up.

I think the sign in the first pic is a fairly accurate description of the picture poster. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Took a Risk Management class today and learned something:

The Zinc dichromate coating that's found on Grade 8 bolts will kill you pretty quickly if it's vaporized while welding. It creates a chemical reaction that increases your liver enzymes and the body is unable to filter it out for the rest of your life.

OSHA recommends:

SnoBowl toilet cleaner to take off the coating, grind, wash, then weld with a new respirator.

Now you know.

I'm not about to go inhaling fumes from welding on galvanized metals , But I recall reading that the by product of welding this is basicly the same as what you put on your nose when going to the beach , and is not going to kill you like is often said , But like I stated I'm not about to needlessly inhale fumes while doing metal work .

Whoever told you this is straight up wrong, white makeup and anything else containing titanium dioxide (sun lotion has it in there iirc) is very biocompatible while chromium is nasty as hell, as are nickel and various copper compounds. In fact most transition metals are bad, titanium just happens to not be.
