Having the flu on such a gorgeous day truly blows goats.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I was called to go reimage a unit that was leaving and it was pretty close to the fence and that was the only section that was on because it has trouble disarming. And went to go take a picture AMD it shocked the shit out of me

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Hey at least you didn't pee on it, or did you after the shock started. :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

As some of you know, I've been looking for a job. I ran across this phrase in a job announcement "Required Skills" section:
•Strong team player with well developed influencing skills

In other words, a manipulating son of a bitch. We didn't cover that in Grad school. :)

classic Ren and Stimpy tune -- "don't pee on the electric fence"

Kiefer, next time, wear Teva sandals... they insulate you from grounding fairly well. :dunce:

Trinidad Resident Kills Intruder; 2 More Sought

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/29819732/detail.html

Excellent. And the Gene Pool continues to be cleaned out.

Back in the winter 1983, my Wife's dog started raising a ruckus at around 1:00 in the morning. As she only barked at intruders, I got up to see just what had her hackles up. Saw that the lights were on in my neighbors house. Knowing he had gone to his parents in Nebraska (we were house sitting for him), I did two things. Had the Wife call 911 and I grabbed my Enfield 303 British and a clip. I also had my Spouse tell the 911 Operator that I would be armed so please do not shoot the Wild Haired, partially dressed, Biker. Thank You Very Much...

I approched the back of the house just in time to catch one of the miscreants backing out of a window. You know, a bolt action rifle makes a very distinctive sound when you slowly chamber a round. Tapped the idiot on the ass with the barrel and suggested he stop moving. Which, let me assure you, he did. A fine imitation of a statue.

Cops showed up within maybe 15 minutes (want a fast response? Use Armed as a descriptor) and had a good laugh at the situation. Picture it, the guy had one leg out of the window and my gun poking his cheek.

To make the guy sweat a little, the Cops asked me if I would like to shoot the bugger saying (with a wink and a nod) "Too bad we got here too late". This resulted in a thin, yellowish, steaming, stream of liquid to be emitted by the moron. After extracting the self styled equalizer of the wealth and his partner, I was thanked by the Cops. Imagine, a Biker getting thanked by a Cop.

The only reason I could get to the house in time was that the dead bolts were of the double key type so the idiots could not just walk out of the front door. The only reason they got in easily is that my neighbor had not locked down a bedroom window.

The fallout of this event was that the neighborhood got real quiet for months after.

More folks need to be prepared to defend what is theirs. We have the law on the books (did not in '83) and so are protected.

Just my .02 on this one...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This IS B.S.......

I used to be a big fan of Colorado Auto Salvage. Spent lots of money over the years and had a decent relationship with Dan who apparently used to own the place......

Clearly they got bought out about 2 years ago - no shocker. But the way they're doing business now sucks.

They rotate stock QUICKLY. Vehicles aren't around for much more than 2-3 weeks tops. Lots of good stuff getting ground up.

Their pricing sucks. Not on everything, some stuff is still reasonable, but $30 a piece for non-power seat bases?

And if they don't have a part listed in their pricing program, they have figured out a way to establish a price...... they charge by the inch. No, I'm not kidding.

So, with the tip from another Chapter member, I go down today to check out the 3 MJ's I was told were in the yard. I find lots of good parts and one MJ has the hard to find black interior.

So, I grabbed every interior part except for the seat and dash (which were junk) and these parts:
Non-power bucket seat bases, $30 each (gawdamn!)
Door panels, $10 each - Ok.
Sun visors, $4 each - Ok.
Arm rests $5 each - Ok.
MJ tail light $22.50 (ouch, but Ok.),
Tail gate - $50 +$15 core (really? a core on a tailgate? - but OK.),
'96 header panel $25 (the only bargain really.)
Fan shroud $10 - Ok.

Then comes all the plastic interior trim parts........

491 inches of trim at $.15/inch......... $73.65........

Used to be when I'd buy a few large pieces the trim stuff never amounted to more than $20 if it wasn't free........ Sonuva. After tax and that stupid Enviro fee.......

$268.06

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Who bought them out, Troy?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Last time I got a 'core charge' pulled on me it went like this:
Me: I got a couple fenders, this that the other thing blah blah blah
Them: fenders are 50 each plus 5 dollar core charge each
Me: core charge on a FENDER? it's not a rebuildable part, wtf?
Them: everything is recyclable :gee::nono:
Me: oh fine whatever

I toss my stuff in the back of the MJ and pick up an old busted single diaphragm brake booster and junk master cylinder that was bouncing around in there... an idea forms in the back of my head.

Me: hey, any chance you want this thing? It's no use to me.
Them: sure! (they grabbed for it pretty quick)
Me: where's my ten dollar core charge? You charge that on master cylinders, I'd like it back.
Them: you didn't buy the new one from us!
Me: and I'm not returning you my old fenders either, I live 6 hours from here! Pay up!

They gave me my junk booster/MC back and I tossed it in the first dumpster I saw, in full view of the same guy :moon:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No idea. Dan used to be the guy that set the prices. If the cashiers weren't sure what to charge, they'd always ask him. Today, I specifically went to deal with him and asked if he'd discount the tailgate as it was dented. He said "Well they want us to charge full price if it's in useable condition."

I shoulda asked "who's they?"

Dan did knock off $25 (tailgates normally are $75 + $15 core) which was nice of him.

Oh and that red head stoner punk they hired for the cashiers counter is a real prick....... if he talks to the wrong guy someday the way I saw him insult a guy today.... He's gonna need surgery and pharmaceutical intervention.
