Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Sorry to hear that Jim, it's always tough when a dog goes. We had to put my St. Bernard down last December, I'd gotten him for my birthday when I was 6... he was a good dog.

So, because everybody needs to know this, this is what my dream truck looks like:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Jim, sorry to hear about your dog -- the pain when they leave us is tough, but I think its worth all the joy they bring too.

Got the tire carrier done, and it appears to work well -- very little movement, although a hockey puck or two as a bumpstop is always an option if it moves more than I think it does once off-road:

Tundra truck? No crevasse ladders?

Dunno. Been looking for more info on it since I found the picture a few months ago, but I can't find it anywhere.
All I know about it is what I can see in the pic...
46" tires
Iceland plates
Marker lights on old style mirrors = 6.0 not a 7.3 = has to be 2003-2007, but headlight style and grille were updated in 05, so that narrows it down to 03-04

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Should have taken a bit of time and ground down those boogers. looks good though

After seeing the pictures, I may just do that -- they don't look that bad in person, but man the photos and the new paint do make them look like nice shiney greasy boogers! :wierd:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

opinion please. ive searched to no avail
ordering new wheels (soft 8's in the 17" flavor) i have a set of 265/70/17's. should i order 7's so i can air down worry free, or order 8's to leave me open for wider tires in the future? or are 8's too wide?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

there are only a few situations where an inch really matters, and this isn't one of them, at least IMO.

Aim for the backspacing that you need and go with whatever width you have to to get it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

cool deal goin with the 8's

Re: The Colorado BS thread

6.0 out on the glaciers, that's a brave man!

I was thinking the very same thing........ Why would he need a 7000+ lb truck out there? Usually you see XJ's, Pathfinders, 4Runners and the like, but something that large....... just gonna break through the hollow spots easier....... and be that much harder to get out. Yikes.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

its a f450 i believe.

I don't think the F450s every came in the short bed flavor. Could be custom though.

Taking a 6.0 out of the shop period is brave lol... I hate those things. And parts for the newer 6.4s are just way too expensive to even bother with, let alone the new 6.7s.
7.3 FTW!

Haha yeah... driving the biggest truck around is pretty cool until you get stuck and NOTHING can pull you out... ask me how I know :D
I'd guess he uses that thing as a recovery vehicle for the rest of em... that's what I'd do with it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Check out this thing... the IDF uses em, they're F350s with modified frames. Looks like all they kept of the body is the grill and hood.
