Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

What time would you want to go tomorrow?

Well, anytime after Led gets here and is gone...... my only real plans are to get some more leaves raked up and then bring another project rig to the house from the yard so the sooner we go and get back works best for the both of us sounds like.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Have you used anything off my old rig?

Funny you should ask........ took what was left to the scrapper just today. Pretty much just the unibody, headliner, hood, header panel, pass fender & door and a stripped dash...... Otherwise, it looked like a turkey carcass after Thanksgiving dinner....... I filled it with old tires/wheels and that bent D30 that was under it. It weighed a bit over 1,700 lbs and I got a whopping $84...... :D

I tried to take a pic of it hanging from the forks of the loader but the sun screwed up the image on my cell phone camera.........

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Way to ruin my night :( haha

Nah, you've got a better rig outta the whole ordeal now. Believe it or not, your white XJ was kinda rusty in the unibody. First time I've ever found rust/rot under the black plastic foot plates in the door sills..... :wierd:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Haha really? Well it is true... I am WAYYYY happier with this new rig :D

Yeah, don't look at the past.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

cripes! It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity that chrysler deliberately puts into their products -- WTF would you use a 12pt 1/2" bolt requiring a deepwell socket to attach the friggin head?!?!?!?!?:soapbox:

That is all, rant off, off to the tool store.

Oh, and found my exhaust leak -- as expected, right at the bottom union on the stock header is an enormous crack... I guess if the engine is saveable (as expected), I'll be throwing some dough out for an APN as well.

That headbolt stupidity is a carryover from the AMC days that Chrysler just left alone.

I'll be doing two APN installs in a couple weeks, first time with that product. Curious to see if they're as good as everyone thinks. Not a bad price for sure, the Dorman is double the money and it's not even a header!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Hey DJ.. WTH was going on at Buckley today? Normal occurrence? I thought the junkyard was gonna get flattened by F-16's, there were no less than 6 strung out at about 30-sec. intervals doing low approaches topped off with some 'burner!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Nice. As a kid I lived about a mile from the end of the runway at Offutt AFB and got used to all the fast jet noise. We don't get that up here on the sleepy north side- forgot what I was doing for a minute and enjoyed the show.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'd strongly advise adding a flex-joint after the bend in the downpipe to help prevent cracking the header.

werd. I may try and get rid of the constrictive stock crushed portion while I'm at it...

BTW, my head bolts were all painted, so I guess its time for a new set -- dealer only, or will NAPA have them?
