Re: The Colorado BS thread

So I've been doing some pondering lately. What do you guys think I should do with my old MJ, the race truck? The motor's been hurt since the Fourth of July, and it's gonna take a couple G's to get it back in action where I want it, low 10's high 9's. But frankly I'm kinda tired of sitting in Bandimere's parking lot all damn day for a few seconds of yee-ha! Plus using a truck and trailer that I don't own- much like a super-built off-road x/mj would need.

So, there it sits, a 2WD caged MJ with mild rear window corner cracks from drag racing. My newest XJ will probably take care of all my wheelin urges, they ain't like they used to be. :) So what should I do with this thing?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It's only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. Obviously you're looking for as much as possible for your rig, but the buyer is the person that will ultimately decide on a price that they feel is suitable for your rig.

I'm not saying your rig isn't worth anything, simply pointing out that like any other rig that's up for sale, the market will drive the cost.

If you are looking for ideas as to what to do with it other than selling it..... Tough call. It's your rig, time, and money. Is fixing it up worth your time and money, or does it make sense to hand it over to someone else to make the repairs/mods?

What would you like to do with it? Truggy? 4wd conversion?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I honestly don't know what I want to do with it. I don't have the world's longest attention span and it's had the V-8 swap for four years. It has come down in 1/4 mile time a little every year, but so what. The sad fact is right now somebody could steal it and I literally wouldn't notice for about a month.

I know.. I'll resurrect the 401 (again) and you can come up with the ModularZ PowertrainZ System. A couple hitch pins and it goes from drag racer to 42" tired rock beast! Whattaya think?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Why does it have to be a 10 second monster? Why not build a bit more mild V8 so it's more streetable and then you can still run it at Bandimere when ya want, but it could also go to cruise nights and run to Home Depot when you need 2x4's and drywall.......

It'd still be one very cool MJ as it's one of a limited few with a V8 but more folks would see it and appreciate it.

Of course that means the hassle of registration and insurance...... but hey, you asked.

I've got a MOPAR Pro Stock 358 R3 block, W8 heads, BRC crank, 3 billeted roller cams, Sheet metal duel quad intake (2 1050 carbs) for a starter. When it was together, Mad Cap said it was 950 HP.

It was registered, insured, and almost daily driven. I drove it to a NAXJA meet and greet in Littleton a couple years ago if you remember.. if I put it back together it's not going to be more mild, you know how it goes, I thought it was boring in the tens. It's just what you get used to.

I might just part everything out.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Mike -- you sick or something? I came by the Filmore BigO to see you yesterday (getting the subaru aligned post curb/control arm repair), but they said you'd been out sick for a week or something... you need some chicken soup?
