Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Too much going on and not enough time to get the Jeep ready.

I went into the time keeping system and retracted the request I submitted on January 18. I think I'll go pout for awhile.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah 5.13s if used on road with a small motor is a bit under geared ...it also is a bit tall if you have only a 2.72 case for big rocks ...But unless you got a an 11.5 or dana 80 rear gears much deeper than 5.13 start making your pinion gear small

Damn, I thought I was the only one suffering from a broken Jeep that I cant get time to fix for vacation..... Sorry to hear you had to cancel vacation.. :banghead:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I am up in the air about being able to make it as well. I have a bum knee and it is keeping me from getting a bunch of stuff done as fast as I want. I pretty much have the Jeep up and going, but I have to finish the trailer. Now my boss is grenching about me leaving for a week, and I put in for it just after the we set the date.

If nothing else, I should be able to make it Thurs-Sun. I might end up staying in a cheap hotel.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Jeez. I just got out of a cast after 3 weeks. I have to wear a walking boot for the next 6 weeks, anytime my right leg is weight bearing. I have another boot that I have to wear in bed, to keep the ankle from flexing. I can't take an anti-inflammatory for another 3 weeks, and stuff hurts when you walk in a walking boot, or use crutches. I'm 3 weeks behind on most everything, because crutches and a knee scooter tend to limit your productivity. Flores says he's working on my jeep this weekend, but who knows somebody else might blow any engine and wiggle their way into his garage.

I came close to saying, screw it, I'm tired of the hassle, but if I get my jeep sometime in the next couple of days, I'll be there.

I'll leave it at that.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Damn Cristopher Dodge...lol...I bought my Ram used 46 months ago for 30k after tax I almost own it outright and they send me an email showing me new trucks and will cost me a bit less after trade in than I was paying on my used one I bought...I need to keep my goal of not buying a New tow rig and just keep this one with the idea that even if I had to repair the 68rfe ...turbo and injectors all in one bad year it would still only be about 5k vs 5 more years of $650 a month...lol...for a tow rig that hardly tows, as my current rig has towed my jeep 1x the rest on 40s it drove itself ...not s great I vestment on the other hand the 6.7 really does melt a set of 33s down in a parking lot .
.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I keep thinkin I should buy a tow rig. But I know I'll drive the jeep to trails anyway so haven't convinced myself yet.

I will say when I got around to building my trailer in 2013 the first time I towed my rig to carnage was fawesome. Exceeded the 65 limit going up Kenosha pass enough to make state patrol blush and trip home was fast with cold ac...under own power turtle slow and I have no ac anymore remo ed for big trans cooler ...in the other hand $600 a month for a rig I only tow a few times and use for nothing else than commuting is a bit of bad investment I'd rather have an old gasser or rent a uhaul. To pull my trailer .

Should be pulling those parts when I get home this weekend .it should bot take too long maybe an hour .will be in touch .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah thats my thing. I was able to run at or above posted limits on out trip to wheeler, although i know it will suck going over the tunnel to moab, but thats whatever. Just hard, like you said, to justify the payment for a tow every now and again.

bad ass, let me know.

Nah its no big deal when your jeep blows an engine or scatters a t-case odr locks up a diff........ not when you have a buddy with a tow rig who's a sucker to help a fellow jeeper anyway.......

Rigs that I've hauled other than my own:

-SeeingSpot's new builder rig
-.40CalPatriot's rig
-XCastleJ's rig
-Mcantar's rig
-jdxj's rig
-DJ's XJ
-DJ's Audi
-DJ's MJ
-'grin's rig from H.R. to C.S.
-'grin's MJ trailer
-xjnoob's wrecked rig AND replacement rig
-The 1st Raffle XJ

Just sayin...........:D

R.O.R.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It would be nice to be able to flog your junk and not have to worry if you're going to be able make it the trip back.

Lol...I've seen the trail rig sitting on a broke down tow rig before ...unless you are flogging it every run you most likely will drive home but with a trailer and tow rig you now have 3 vehicles that can break between trail and home .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Went today and did a systems check on everything on the camper. All good there. Jeep is currently torn down getting the new track bar and axle side bracket built. Hoping I'm able to snag a GoPro before cofest as well. Thinking the black model for the better video quality.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Got home today to find out I can't in a legal fashion work on my rig as they put up a fill burn ban and listed welding ..
I wish the out of staters and city folk who come up to camp and play in the woods would stay home they are ones who start the fires because they are stupid...When I weld I have 3 extinguishers and a few gallons of water If I'm going to be welding or cutting long where I can't check quick I have my brother watch while work...usually The heavy grinding not the mig is why I have all I have to prevent a fire ,But the weekend warriors out for a good time in the hills got the fire ban up because ...lol...most city folks should only be allowed to burn a simulated fire .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Anyone here who has molested their in can electrical junction box have any words of wisdom I went to move my xj today I hooked the junction box back up after having unplugged it and moved it and harness out of the way to cut shyyyt metal now I got a no start the only thing I get power wise is front turn signals and dash lights and wipers nothing else . I did not have time to really trouble shoot it my optima that was dead for a year seemed to take a charge off my jumpers and while low volts may not power the ecu I would stl have head lights I did try my spare ecu just incase weldi g battery hooked up dos fry it , but same result...next week I will puts around with that junction box a bit more making sure connections are clean as they may be crappy from all the grinding dust that went everywhere ...lol...he'll I have not started the jeep since may 2015 before all the rear stretch work so the no start may not even be the junction box...need to see what's getting power at the fuse box and junction box before I Chase my tail...but any insight is welcome a d appreciated .
