Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Anyone know where to get 8 lug wheel adapters in colorado 4wheelparts only carries the 5 lug adpaters and an 8 lug dually adapter no dapters for 8 lug to space the wheel out further from what their website lists . I can order these from pirate ,but was looking to pick them up this week . looking for a set of 2.5 s and a set of 3.5 -4.0 for the rear . I needs my wheel track back after taking the boggers off and putting on these narrow ass TSLs ...lol...the good thing about these narrow tires is i'll be able to stuff the rear a ton after a couple fender mods ,but thae bad is i'll need to cut out mu shock hoops again to rework the difference in travel ...it never ends ...:dunce:

George I'd be really wary of running spacer's that thick. I wouldn't run anything over about 2", otherwise you've got enough leverage with the size of those tires that you'll be able to strip/snap wheel studs like they're going out of style.

Have you though about just selling the wheels you have, and picking up a set of cheap black steelies with a small amount of backspacing to get you more to where you want?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

With 8 lugs I wouldn't be all that concerned, but it does put a lot more strain on the axle with the wheel being so far from the bearing.

Should not be an issue using wheel adapter style spacers VS the cheap slug that just slips in between the hub and wheel ,as adapters bolt to the hubs studs and then provide 8 new studs to bolt the wheel to unlike a slug style spacer which ends up moving the wheel out towards the ends of the stud ...lol...I would not run any bigger than half inch with those due to the leverage they create ,but the style i'm looking would be no different than buying wheels with the same offset . the ending wheel track will only be about 90-92 front and 88 rear I want the rear a bit narrower than the front to reduce understeer .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Found my Camer but not my memory cards I bought Two cameras in 2011 and never used them found them today and know I have the cards somewhere oh well i'll have to go buy more ...lol...I did take a few photos of the XJ on 42s and the tires I have for sale with my phone ,and i almost threw the phone in a snow pile you are either to close to get a good picture or too far away to show depth as it just can't focus in for fine detail ,but I did manage a coupledecent pics ,which i have no idea how to send them from my phone .

And to Jared ...lol...I was going to take a pic with the phone of the lights after dark ,but I think it would suck with a phone pic or phone video ,so I 'll get you some pictures over the weekend and I'll try to get a non driveway shot ,which I guess my storage lot is pretty decent with the mountain back drop its not exactly a residental concrete and asphalt background .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Since everyone is crying the blues about wanting some well...BS in this thread I just wanna put it out there that the Subaru should turn over 297,000 this weekend (I might have to drive a little further to fish but these are the sacrifices I make). I also wanna put out there that my obsession with landing fat carp on a fly is in full bloom again and I have been spending some time in the downtown Denver area stalking them on the South Platte in between old grocery carts, 3 ring binders, and skateboards. Since taking up this addiction again, the smell in my car from the fermented, moist waders and boots has taken on an entirely new aroma. It's pretty damn hot. When the weather gets a little warmer, things should really start brewing in the hatch area.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

How about this. My dad's truck is a '95 Dodge Cummins, two wheel drive, standard cab, auto. Starts in the cold, runs strong, but appearance wise, it's been neglected.

We don't need it, and would like to sell it. Is that twelve valve, 2 wd combo more valuable to the racing crowd, or is it just a fair weather work truck?

Get rid of that rock krawler junk you said...
Just get wj steering you said...
Y
you'll get dual piston brakes too you said...

I hate you guys (flores) so much right now... I have 15" wheels and a stsndard xj 5x4.5 wheel pattern. Drilling some rotors, no biggie. Replacing 15" wheels and 35" mtr kevlar with 17" something or the others and 35" whatsadillys and replacing ball joints and replacing pads/rotors...lots of cash I do not have.

15 inch wheels fit the WJ brake calipers ,but they have to have the correct back spacing and not have taper that that makes the opening smaller toward the outside of the wheel ...not sure what you got for wheels .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Soft 8s

Im trying to figure out how I can do this without spending $500 on random hubs, rotors, spacers etc.

As is its going to cost minimum $180 for new ball joints, rod ends, pads. Sooo disappointed in how cost intensive this is beyond "buy junk wj axle, swap stuff over"

Re: The Colorado BS thread

The steel wheels may very well clear the rotors. IIRC, a 4-inch back spaced steel wheel could fit... note I said "could." ;)

You definitely need to do some homework for the swap.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Anyone know a guy in longmont with a lifted white 4door super duty. Somewhere off pike and main? If so let me know, I'd like to have a chat with the guy.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I got done at the Gym I was really hating life getting into the New Super Duty I traded the Dodge in for as it was not real friendly after training legs climbing up into this lifted beast ,But atleast it will stay cleaner than the big Blue Dodge as White just keeps looking clean even when dirty .

So do you know if they fit or not for sure ?...if they are close can you grind them a bit like the dana 60 double pistion brakes to fit the wheel ?
