Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ya I drooled over that a lil bit. But between having to fab up motor mounts, wiring and the whole drivetrain swap, I'm not sure if it's a project I'm ready to tackle.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Oh and yesterday I saw the cleanest mj. Looked to be a 90's. Garaged its whole life and it was an old man driving it. So it was stock. I wish I woulda got a pic of it...

Drooled over it- you mean like Led telling me you're gonna buy it? If you don't want it then just say so.

It's not that big a deal, no need to weld up much, just cut brackets off another rig and burn them back on the 'frame' rails. The wiring and powertrain install is easy, that's what Led is for! :D

Frankly I figured there'd be more response to it, mostly straight MJ with a gnarly cage, clean title, D44 with upgraded shafts, for $600.. just needs powertrain dropped in and one of those nifty COS two-tone paint jobs.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I guess the cats outta the bag now :D
ya I'm trying to have the cash to ya for that Lil mj of yours by the end of the week

Re: The Colorado BS thread

sorry, Mike, I was just keeping my eyes peeled!!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It's all good. Now I can do a groovy Lil 'build' thread. With all the new parts I'll be putting on and others getting replaced. Depending on tax returns it might get a whole lotta new goodies :dunno:

Mike,
Do I see a truggy in your near future, or are you not planning on taking it to that extreme? It's too bad about the old heep, I was looking forward to hitting some gnarly trails with you over the summer. Get it up on 35's, last year coloradofest three XJ's on 35's made it through carnage and two of them did not sustain any damage.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Truggy? No
but it is the goal to build a better set up than what I managed to screw up.
I'll be on the same axles and tcase and all that good stuff. Plan on building sliders, bumpers, and maybe some extra armor for the front end.

I still want to run all the same trails I had initially planned. Realistic goal to finish the swap and build Is the end of April. I figure it's a realistic timeframe and gives me long enough to make more money to spend on it lol.
So no worries we will hit carnage for sure!!!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I can't wait to see what you do with it! The thing's definitely had an interesting life. Run of the mill MJ, then I put a small lift on it and wheeled Moab and a few Colorado trails. Then 750 HP street/ strip beast, now back to the trails again..

with that history, I'm assuming there is some unibody stiffners in there somewhere... If not, I think that might be job one!!!:eyes:

There is more than a few pounds of welding on it :jester:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

The cage is pretty stout and stiffens it up quite a bit. A few more bars and it's an internal chassis. I would extend it through the motor area before powertrain install.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ya I'm pretty excited to build it. It so little right now.
I want to add tube for sure. Between bumpers and other stuff. Good thing I already have a Lil bit :D
I want to add some plate to the frame rails and make the frame around the engine bay specifically stout.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Doesn't Jacobs' MJ already have sliders???

(Mike, you need to start your own thread already........ and you don't even have the MJ yet..... :roflmao:)

Re: The Colorado BS thread
