Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I got some B.S to share. Had an interview lined up with A&W Water Services on Wed. So I took work off and showed up early at A&W to find out that they were not doing interviews that day. Someone on there end dropped the ball and forgot to give me a call updating me on this change. Now I'm waiting for a call to let me know when they are going to reschedule it. AAAAHHHHHH shits frustrating. Until then I'm stuck at my job that I cant stand.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well if it's any consolation.

I told the boss I'd like to pursue another direction in my work with the company last February. He said OK.

I met someone in March who'd told him the same thing in March who told me that they'd gone and spoken to the other department right away about his crossing over. That led to me getting a bit uppity with the boss.

I met someone in June who said "No, you've got to just find a position over there and apply". So I did, and called a supervisor over there to speak to them personally about it.

A week later that supervisor called and said they weren't interested in me at this time.

2 weeks later that supervisor called and said they were interested in me, and asked that I apply to a different position, so I did.

a month later I got a notice that HR was unable to contact me. So I contacted the supervisor, he started an inquiry. Then a company wide hiring freeze happened, which included a transfer freeze.

In December I got a denial for the position. I contacted the supervisor, who informed me that I was supposed to be getting an offer for transfer, not a denial.

Midway through December I was asked to apply for a 3rd position.

The first week of Jan I got an offer letter, with a start date of late January.

So the process of transfer took ~1 week shy of 1 year from the time I asked about it.

TADA.

It's all good. I've come to expect it from this corporation. It was several months from "you're hired" to "you start on Tuesday" Besides, I got several out of district travel opportunities in that time it wasn't like I was stuck in an office doing the same thing over and over again. Heck, I even got a few nights in Deadwood SD, a trip to D.C., and got to explore Southwestern PA and western WY.

The down side is that when I applied for the position it was roughly double my pay. Now they've restructured the pay and I have no idea what the resulting pay will be, I just know that it will be more than they've changed my original pay to...

The other down side is that they had silly requirements for me to promote, so I opted to just sit where I was because I was going to transfer instead. Finally in December I went ahead and jumped through their hoops and got the promotion 10 days before I got the transfer

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ARGH. Found out the hard way tonight that the cross beams for the 12 ton HF shop press I just bought are exactly 1/4" too close together to fit the part I need to press apart.
