Re: The Colorado BS thread

Haha ya I hear ya Fred. I was just going off my basic education and minimal info there in. Basic gist was we are all an import and should cram the crap involved with all that.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

We visited the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, Ca today. It was pretty fricken awesome. Some of the passenger and race cars held some historical significance so it was cool to see. This museum was on Hot Rod's Top 50 'Things to do if you're a car guy' list.

Tomorrow it's the Peterson Museum.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Got to love the Pinzgauer in the same room as the race cars.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Those formula racers on the wall have got some serious downforce aero to stay there like that. :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I've had the hardest time tracking down a new left side cover for the cafe racer project. I found one several days ago. Not cracked and he only wanted 30 for it. I jumped all over it. Got home today and it was on the doorstep. Opened the box, went to the garage and went to put it on. It cracked. I just placed it on the floor and went back inside and grabbed a beer. 40ish year old plastic can be brittle. Lesson learned. I'm gonna get new replicas. And more beer.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So we're in California on vacation, and just got an email from Chase regarding the data breach from Target before Christmas, and that our accounts were on the list for those that were stolen. Without notice, Chase froze our accounts and is mailing us new cards as replacements. The issue with that is, we dont carry cash while traveling and our Debits cards are the only sources for money. On top of that, we're not home to receive the overnight package from Chase.

Now I'm having to go to a Chase hub in Irvine to get a temporary card so we can pay for the car/hotel and get home.

Aggrevating....

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm not sure when it was run this year but the event in Parker, AZ where he was in the lead and was communicating with his helicopter which is strictly forbidden as not all competitors have their own team helo. He was penalized 15 minutes and it cost him the win. He cried about it. Last night they were interviewing BJ Baldwin about his hopes for the Dakar and he said first...to win and second...to come in ahead of Robbie. Robbie was upset about that and called him a dreamer. Well BJ's only 2.5 hours down after 2 days. And Robbie's Hummer is running like a dog turd this year.

I've never liked him. Poor sport.

Gotcha, just goes to show you how much I care for him as well. :D

So I did the 98 door mod to my 95 Cherokee, and the door locks are kicking my arse. I got the windows to work and the power mirrors. I think I have the door locks figured out, will do a write up when I'm done. I think it's beer 30 time.

How time/fund consuming is this? Was considering it on sisters jeep. But think that might require paying someone else to do it. LOL.

It's really not that hard, the wiring is where it gets you. Luckily mine had power windows and door locks to begin with, so it made it easier. The windows not a problem, as well as the power mirrors. I had to make a harness to go from one door to the other for the power mirrors. The door locks is another deal in itself. I can get them to unlock, just not lock. Still looking into that though. The passenger side door module is the brains for the door locking system and it needs to see a lot of different variables to lock the doors, but none to unlock. I have about 150 bucks in it with the doors and the new window motor for the passenger side. As far as time, I would say I have a solid week of time vested, only since I have never done it. But I know a guy who has done it now, so next time will be easy. :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That's not a problem, just need to add a couple of relays and some wiring. Easy peasy! :D
