Re: The Colorado BS thread
Forgot to post up about it, but on Wed I went up towards Estes Park to grab another tag. The tag was Lily Lake and as usual the ride up HWY-7 towards Estes Park was a beautiful and enjoyable one.
I then dropped into Estes Park and was planning to ride HWY-34 into Loveland and catch up with my friend for lunch. He was supposed to have been home the day before after riding out to Las Vegas for a week with some other friends. I gave him a ring and it turned out he had decided to stay that night in Black Hawk, so I grabbed a quick bite to eat, turned around, and started riding towards Black Hawk.
While in Nederland I dropped the new tag off here.
We met up on the road about halfway between Rollinsville and Blackhawk. We gathered up and headed back to Estes Park where the group of us (my buddy Jim and his his wife plus another friend/co-worker Dickie with his wife, both on Electra-Glides) sat down a the Estes Brewery for a drink and some chit chat.
Last night my frame guards came in so I installed them this morning while getting ready for another ride. Once again I'll be surrounded by Electra-Glides as my buddy Jim and another co-worker/friend Kevin will be joining me for a trip down to Canon City and back, we're on the hunt for another tag.
I will admit that riding around on my wife's little Shadow, plus constantly being surround by my friends who mostly ride HD baggers really has me contemplating going the way of 'Merica and selling off the 950 Adventure so I can get myself a cruiser too. Part of this is because I'm already wanting to get a lighter weight enduro (like a WR250R or KLX250S) for trail riding as I don't have the experience/confidence to take my big 950 out on the trails. I just know I'd probably regret it though as this 950 Adventure has been great and is loads of fun to ride. I'm at 1800 miles on it since I bought jut over a month ago and will be well over 2000 miles after today. Its basically the bike I've truly learned to ride on as the KLR was so short lived. I also know I have severe ADD when it comes to vehicles of any type and am trying to make sure I don't let it get the best of me as it has in the past. In the mean time however, its time to ride. Thanks to Obama my friends and I are all on furlough today and will be enjoying our bikes all the more.
