Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Which may have had more to do with your ability to wheel as opposed to Solarbell, rather than the difference in tires. I never really wheeled in snow when I had two lockers, but in two instances yanking stuck cars, I had to use both lockers to go forward and maintain steering. The snow was both deep and the road icey underneath, and I had siped AT's.

The Krawlers have great clean out ability. no doubt they were superior in that aspect. I think the lockers played a big role too. What psi were you at dutch?

3-5PSI judging by what they were when i bolted them on my rig

Oh yeah, air pressure makes a huge difference too. I always drop down way low. Right around 4-5psi with beadlocks and about 8-10 w/o.

There was a sweet TJ in our group on 37" Kevlars and I wish I'd made a video because it perfectly illustrated how much airing down helps. He was running open/open and not making much progress. He then locked in both ARB's and managed another foot or so before he started just spinning again. We tossed my auto deflates on to bring him down from 30psi to 5ish and he drove right out of his hole and never had any more issues (minus sliding off trail while going down a steep hill). Once aired down his Kevlars did great. Even aired up they were cleaning out well, but just sinking in and not letting him make any progress.

Here are some more pics, I wish I had some of these for the SWAG vote.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ya psi is HUGE!

The top pic looks like the deepest snow, but the ones of his rig doesn't look like he is in more than a few inches of snow. My guess is psi. :dunno:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Crestone is totally funky -- lots of Buddhists, lots of hippie love, combined with a self-sufficient Colorado-western vibe. Those of you who know me would therefore figure out that I LIKE IT! Undoubtedly one of the prettiest spots in the Valley as well, right under Crestone needle (fun hike, BTW). Close to Sand Dunes, but a long way from any real cities...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

According to a news story I saw a while back, lots of U.F.O. freaks there as well. Apparently they see them quite a bit down there. :eyes:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

that could be explained by other means, too in Crestone, ya know? :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Apparently our SRT8 Grand is considered a boat. I just busted out another thousand at the DMV for plates......... owwie....

On a positive note, there is one less paparazzi in California apparently.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

You only paid 1000$ on that thing? Thats BS man, I paid 800$ on the Kia and it cost half as much, plus weighs less. WTF!!! I was so pissed when I left the DMV, it took everything I had not to flip out on the lady after she told me howm much they'd be.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It must come down to where you buy it from and what fees the dealership can/will incorporate into the sale at the time of sale. We live in the city limits of Littleton so I'm wondering if you live in an unincorporated area, where fees get drawn at the time of registration at the DMV? :dunno:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah, I paid all my city and state sales tax at the dealership (even called to confirm it), what I got hit on was a 600$ ownership tax. I paid about 200$ in licensing and road fees, as was expected. It was the 600$ ownership tax that had (ok, has) me broiling.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I got nailed for $820 on my 2012 Cummins...which compared to the Kia, I'd expect the Kia to be a good amount less. I wasn't surprised what I had to pay, but I still wasn't happy about it that's for damn sure!

I also paid all of the sales tax and what not at the dealer.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

There has to be an easier way to install cabinet hinges. I feel like a total jackass over here.
