Ive done a rear strut replacement before but not much as far as front suspension goes. What are the steps to add a 1.75" to 2" spacer to my 98. I just installed a 2" AAL and I want to get the front up a bit. Any cons to doing this, I dont need long travel or anything like that just need to even it out and I'll be getting 30's maybe 31's in the future.

jack jeep up tall
liberal use of jackstands here
unbolt steering
unbolt trackbar
unbolt shocks
unbolt coil spring retainer
lower axle
remove coil
install spacer
install coil
raise axle
install coil spring retainer
install shocks
install steering
install trackbar
notice axle is off center and wheels sit close to firewall
buy lca's
buy adjustable trackbar
wheel once
doh!
buy RE lift

Looks ok to me. ;)

Running 31's on the street.
Only "lightly" wheeled with them.
Let me get a pic. ;)

go HIGHER if ya wanna wheel it with 31's.

If you have coil compressors, you can do it buy setting the Jeep on jackstands, jack axle up to compress suspension, compress coils, disconnect swaybar and shocks, lower axle, and then the spring should come right out. That's how I've always done it.

when i put a poly spring spacer on my 89 i had to unscrew the bump stop becuase the poly spacer wouldnt go over the metal lip. not sure about 98.

I guess I dunno why i said 31's, I really dont wheel. I do live in the Upper Peninsula of MI which some ppl down south or other areas may call wheeling all the time living up here. I really am only doing the front because I did the back to support more weight for towing etc, and I want to level out the front. I dont need much flex or articulation, just decent ride.

i did all of the above, but i ended up unbolting the LCAs without thinking.

which opened a huge can of worms.

I didn't unbolt any of my steering.

Unbolted shocks and swaybar.

Used my bottle jack and stuck it between the axle and frame and jacked it until the spring fell out.

I guess this is what im going to try first, I looked at the suspension today quick and this should work. How about cheapest 2" or so spacer???

the easiest way is to jack up vehicle. rest axle on jack stands and then if you have a coil spring compersor or acces to one that will make your life 100% easy. compress sping until you can fit spacer under slowly release spring jack off jeep and you done.(hehe i said jack off)
