I didn't get to go the whole week, but the group told me they had great weather....... until I showed up and brought the afternoon rain storm with me. :D

We ran Chinamans that night (Thursday) with 6 or 7 rigs one of which was a lifted TJ. That was quite a bit of fun! Chinaman's sure has gotten dug/washed out! My '96 with the 3.5" lift and 31's with a Powertrax rear locker really got knocked around and banged up. The last obstacle at the top, a "V" notch was pretty nasty. Terry's rig (87xjco) got pretty crossed up and had to winch out, and I had to take a strap to drag it through the entire obstacle. The t-case skid and 8.25 diff really took some abuse.

A handfull of us hit Wheeler Lake Friday and that was a great day. Beautiful weather and no one else on the trail except for a couple of hikers and one ATV. Interesting story: There was a paper plate stuck on a forest service marker about mid-trail with information about 2 lost dogs in the area. The sign was 2 days old. On our way off the trail just above the dam, there they were - both dogs. Jim and Lynn and I were able to befriend the dogs and found contact info on their tags. Luckily, the owners - normally living in Littleton, were still at their cabin 5 minutes away. Pretty cool to have been able to help out - the dogs and owners sure were happy to be reunited! :thumbup:

Dinner at the Coyote Cantina Friday night was great! Huge taco bar buffet! Then we did the raffle back at camp and then had a really great time around the fire pit as usual!

Saturday was the group run of Chinamans. I decided not to go since it was kinda brutal on my rig..... but it turned out that once again...... DJ (91 Jeep Project) was in need of some help. There'll be a separate post on that later....... :D
