-CO chapter M&G JEEP SHOW-April 23rd

I'll do the initial crush on it.

Any chance we can pull the glass first? Or maybe just bust it out prior? I can bring some old spark plugs in and show you guys a sweet trick. :)

We usually beat the car with sledge hammers for the first 30 minutes. Glass and everything sharp gets broken pretty fast, never seen a sliced tire from a car crush... yet.

Yeah we will pull it first.
I'm getting the final ok on the car.
If it's too big we can scrap that idea.

That's a late '90's thin-sheet metal Olds and it didn't crush easily.....

That '70's T-bird will barely bend even after being beaten with hammers first...... Dutch better bring a HUMMER or HEMMITT (whatever they're called) to get the initial crush started...... :D

I'd look for a slope-nosed import. Smaller XJ's can get up on those, and the pilars/roof is perfect for the "big boys" to crush with big tires/axles.....

Which ever car you find, definitely get rid of the glass and any trim/plastics that will break first. Roll the door windows down..... it's kinda fun for people to try to dent the door with a sledge enough to break the glass inside..... kinda like smacking a pinyata.....

Go pull that engine, take what he'll give you for your efforts and scrap and go buy a junk import for $300 or less so you get your money back when you scrap it.

Gawd..... an old Dodge Aries K car..... now THAT would be fun to crush. Or a Yugo.......:D

Sent an e-mail on a $300 Escort in my 'hood that would work nicely for a crusher car. If I can snatch it up..... can I drop it at your place Cody? I'm getting thin on parking at my place...... :shhh:

No problem!!! I can store it here as soon as you get it. Then we just gotta get it to th M&G.
I'm on the north end of the springs. So it's not too far.
I will do my best to pitch in some for the car or at least gas for driving!
Thanks again!!!!

I might drive down there in my MPG-getter- and it ain't a Jeep. Just have to make sure Troy doesn't come near it with the sledge. "No Mongo, smash THAT one"

LOL....... I'm no "Mongo"....... It's Mike (Hypoid) that ya gotta worry about... That dude makes swinging a heavy sledge an emotional experience......

:D

Found a $300 Prelude in my 'hood too...... we'll see about that one as well.

LOL..... the Prelude guy got back to me. Won't sell it for scrap/parts/car crush. "It's my first car and I hate to get rid of it. It's got real potential and I want to see it fixed up nice again."

Dude...... it's an '87 Prelude.....

email him from a different email.... tell him you want to build a 87 prelude drag car for fast and the furious 8!the movie should be out this fall! :laugh3:

Put me in for $50 towards the car. i can get it to you as soon as you need it.
I will be in the Springs in the next few days.
no worries! i dont want people to feel obligated to pitch on the car.

or a few of us (willing to) could pitch on the car and split the scrap profits... just an idea.

we gotta find one thats not a $300 FULL RACE 87 PRELUDE.:D:D:D:D :D:D:D:D
