Clutch just went POOF!

Heys guys, has this ever happened to you, my 97's clutch just took a
crap and now won't let me switch gears or even start her. The clutch pedal just goes all the way in with alot of resistance, but is not engaging. Took it to the mechanics, waiting to hear back what it could be.

Has something like this ever happened to any of you.

Well.. if it has been on its way out, there is a good chance a chunk of the friction material came off and lodged itself between the flywheel and clutch plate.

Yeah that makes sense, it has been ready to go for a while.

It happened on my VW, heard a click and then i could not get it to disengage.. the pad was missing chunks and fingers where broke.

you live in east LA.. have you not lived there long? Tell you what, tomorrow is friday, even at noon, go hop on the 5 in an automatic and feel the difference. you're left leg will thank you.

Lol that is true but it really doesn't bug me, I work in the west side and feel the wrath of the 405 and 10 freeway in full traffic mode. I have lived in East LA all my life. Not that bad driving stick in traffic.

I've dropped the clutch in my escort back in the day, only to find I couldnt shift it out of first. LoL

revvvv.....screeeeeech......grrrrrrrrrrrr.......yeaaaaa Ahh! - crap no second. Sloooowwww quietly hahahaaaaaa

springs on the clutch were missing when I opened it up!

What was messed up, this happened to me yesturday when I got out of work early, I had just got off the freeway by my house when all hell broke loose. It finally stalled and I needed to get it towed to the mechanics. My early day turned to a bad day.
