Thanks Johnny Walker at the Dunes for the front hook brackets in swap for my extra louvers. And thanks to 831_XJ for the swap of nut strips for the XJ badges I had. Good will to both of you! I sourced the chrome hooks elsewhere, but they came with no mounting hardware. You guys provided all the solutions.

The hooks are installed. Fronts went on the OEM welded brackets. Rears went on with the nut strips held in the chassis rail by four half inch bolts each. Same as securing the trailer hitch.

Check out the pics:

The nut strips attach with four bolts. Two of the bolts go through the hooks. Although the holes in the chassis rail and nut strip don't align with the hooks. I had to drill an extra hole and weld an extra nut on the nut strip. There is no visible hook bracket. It is the nut strip inside the chassis rail. It is slipped into the open end of the rail. The bolts go up into it through the existing holes in the chassis rail meant for hitch attachment to the same nut strip. Bumper has to come off to do this.

This is all about there is to see. The large nuts between the hook and chassis are simply used as spacers to drop the hooks down about an inch. Its all pretty tight in there between the leaf spring and gas tank etc. Especially the other side with the exhaust pipe in there.
