Chinaman's Gulch Run 4-30-17

What a great freakin run! We had 9 rigs, some newer members which was AWESOME. We mostly all met at the fork by Carnage by 10 and waited around/BS'd until about 10:45 when we got started. Unfortunately CB usage/attendance was not high so that made trail communication a little difficult so next time I lead a run I want at minimum the first person and the last person to have CB's.

Unfortunately, we had a few mishaps; Eric broke a main leaf very soon at the beginning, on his way out his drive shaft slid out making it even more difficult. Aaron escorted him out and caugh back up with us shortly thereafter. 1tonXJ came up huge and took Eric home to Leadville with his Jeep on the trailer while 1ton's brother held the fort down with the rig for 1ton to get back. MAJOR help out.

Weston, one of our newer members that has(d) a SUPER clean MJ had a couple of mishaps as well, his rocker panel ate it hard and his drag link broke. We left his MJ on the trail and got out, he ended up getting a ride back with Janine, they got a drag link and came back up today to fix it.

Overall everyone had fun outside the few mishaps we had - I even had fun all the while not having my own rig :laugh:

Did you hear if they got his mj out? That thing was so clean it was a little sad to see it get dented.

Great run tho. Weather was pretty nice except for the wind. Looking forward to another. Thanks for all the pics!

I can't see them not getting it out he just needed a drag link , but would be cool to see the update ...lol...why is it rocker guards are the first thing you think of after beaching the rocker on a rock . There was not a dent on that either...

I'm also sorry about them being those goofy 2 second vids the iphone does. I imported them through USB and that's how they uploaded. If I get time I will fix it.

To be fair, Weston mentioned to me before we even started he was waiting for JCR to come out with their MJ sliders before he got some.

Hello everyone. This is my first post on here. I'm Weston with the clean mj. It was sad to see the rocker get damaged as well as a little scuff on the door but I do body and paint so I'm not too worried about getting it fixed. I already have a new xj rocker panel ready to be welded in. I'm more then capable of building my own rockers, but I'm waiting to get all my armor thru jcr off-road. I'll be one of the first to get there newly released sliders and a new mj rear bumper there coming out with. So that's why I haven't built any as of yet. Andrew was riding with me when I tried this rock obstacle I honestly had zero business even trying. But....we all live and learn. Janine and myself got my truck fixed Monday morning and the truck is all good to go. I made it back to junction later Monday night with zero issues. Next up for the mj is sliders, front/rear bumpers, and I'll be ordering notch customs flair's as well. I hate to cut the bed sides as I am a purist myself but it just has to be done. And I feel the notch flair's are the best OE looking aftermarket solution.

It was great to meet everyone and go out on a trail run and not see one jk. So that in itself was awesome! Lol. Looking fwd to lots more trail runs with this group! It was great to meet Andrew as well.
