Chinaman Gulch Run: SATURDAY, APRIL 21st

XJ2 - Sorry, just saw your question after passing over it a couple times.....

I like to take 25 to the 'Springs and take the Cimmaron/Hwy 24 exit. Take 24 all the way to where it junctions with 285 then take that into BV. Less hills to climb with the truck/trailer, that's why I like that route.

I'm gonna try to make this run..... pretty sad that the last time I ran it, the Heep had the flop damage - and it may not have changed one bit for this run either.....

I plan on making this run, though Im not sure how much longer im going to be wheeling the Jeep before I start the major teardown :D. Haven't done Chinamans since I've been back in Colorado, so about damn time I do it. I really would like to hit up Carnage BV and Indy as well while im still on Turdy Five's...

it's on my calendar

i should be there...

thanks to terry for the new UCA bushings i'm clunk-free.

still need to track down a vacuum leak, fix an electrical bug in the turn signals, and a few other misc things, but am looking forward to hitting the trail again.

P.S.
as i rolled into the driveway tonight, the odometer finally hit 70,000! ;)

We usually meet up in the parking lot of the KFC on 31st & Colorado.

What time? 6:30 - 7:00ish? Just curious. I'm new to wheeling in CO, I'm a relocated east coaster (Tellico, Paragon) and would like to tag along if I can get away for the day. I would like to caravan also since I'm not familiar with the Buena Vista area yet.

Wes.

I would be there by no later than 7:00 a.m. Its roughly a 2 hour drive to the trailhead.

Just out of curiosity, would anyone be interested in maybe running Carnage while others run Chinaman's. I've been wanting to run Carnage now for some time, just haven't gotten around to it and think its about damn time :D.

Damn, nevermind...just remembered Im working that Saturday...But I might try and see if anyone will take my shift.

I think we may need to split into 2 groups.Give the first group 30-45 minute head start just so things aren't so jammed-up on the trail.:dunno:
let us know... haven't decided if i'm driving up that morning or camping out the night before, but if the former it would be good to have the extra time.

that might be better for us folks up north incase we are running late.

Right you are! So you will be down with all that early-morning goodness. I know I will be since I'm going back to days! Remeber, we're coming home Sat. night, so early is better. Mental wanted to help on that other thing. I told him what we were doing. Any intrest in a rider? I'm sure we can corrupt him... :) We could potentially do both trails.... Is Tom coming? I spoke to Signman a few days ago and he said it was most likely a go for him.

Not for sure that I am comming. I am trying to finish the trailer and rework the rear springs on the XJ. If I finish in time, I hope to be there. I may drive up the night before and sleep in the Explorer.

Me too. I'm not gonna make it. Too much going on, not enough money. I'll spend the weekend working on the Heep rather than 'wheeling it - that's almost as good huh? I'm gonna need every minute I can to get it ready for Moab anyway.
