TNT Seasoned Veteran Location S.E. WI Jun 14, 2007 #3 6 lug hubs are the narrowest. Switching to 5 lug hubs makes the axle 1" to 1.5" wider overall(.5" to .75" per side). I forget which amount, but it does increase width Going 8 lug hubs makes it another 1.5" wider overall.
